Visited on numerous occasions. Great pub. Lovely food. Slight issue with our bill as overcharged - paid for previous customer's drinks ! Thank goodness we checked our banking app. If pub had been busier, it may have been harder to check/prove. All sorted with a smile and we were back in the following evening!
This pub is steeped in maritime history as the name may suggest. It's a great location right on the water front and the roaring fire was most welcoming on a cold winters day. We initially went in for a quick afternoon tipple but pretty quickly decided to book and have dinner later in the evening due to the menu that was on offer. Amazing food. It really is. The only reason for marking down Re service and atmosphere is that there was only one member of staff behind the bar and one serving the food. It did create bit of delay in getting served and plates weren't cleared very quickly. Please don't let this put you off though, the food is WELL WORTH it. Can I also say that on 2 previous visits the food was still amazing and staffing didn't seem an issue.
