A hidden gem in Sidmouth. Friendly staff, a lovely selection of local produce and the best loaded hot chocolate I've had for years!

OK we always go here. Had to add a review on the pate. No dry meat paste here. Also had to mention the Sidmouth Rarebit is a must. Filling tasty and unique.

A real old fashioned cafe that serves the most delicious drinks and food. We visit this cafe every year and are never disappointed.

Absolutely gorgeous gently warmed scone, plenty of cream and lovely jom. Quirky little venue...love it! Tucked up a side street so hunt it out!

The absolute best crab sandwiches in Sidmouth, or possibly anywhere! Really - you should have one.
We were looking for place where we could get a cup of tea and a cake and fit five people and three dogs in. This fairly small place looked promising for the food but seemed to present a challenge on space however a speculative enquiry was met with enthusiastic exhortations to enter. We were seated at the only table that could accommodate us but actually without being crowded. My daughter was keen to have a scone at some point in the holiday but had been frustrated by all previous locations only offering the fruited variety. She was delighted that three varieties of home baked scones were on offer including plain, fruited and cheese. Devon cream teas in two varieties of scones were ordered plus another with cappuccino cake. There was a wide variety of teas on offer, all loose leaf, and we all opted for Assam. The tea was served with an eclectic mix of vintage tea cups, no two the same, and very generous portions of strawberry jam and clotted cream which we were assured would be topped up if needed, which seemed unlikely. The scones arrived nicely warm, well risen and of generous size. The scones were simply delicious, the best that most of us could recall eating in many years of sampling in various places, including many in the county immediately to the west. There was a brief debate about whether the cream was to be applied in the Devon style or the Cornish style but in deference to our location we applied the cream first. Not a word of criticism was to be heard and, although not needed, the final act of great service was the delivery of some diced chicken for the dogs. If you are ever looking for a decent cup of tea in Sidmouth with a good choice of cakery served by happy staff, I couldn’t recommend the Dairy Shop more highly.
