Loved stopping in here. It's just around the corner from my off-grid accomodation. Silly me didn't have cash but they took care of me. You can expect some cash in the mail!!! So come prepared with cash. I haven't laughed this much in a pub since I found something similar in Donegal. This is what England is all about. Great ale, atmosphere and service. Holidaying 5 minutes down the road, heard there was an Open Mic and popped along. Met the landlord and a bunch of locals outside and was immediately drawn into warm conversation and welcome. Borrowed a guitar and had a fantastic evening!

Great atmosphere, loads of history. If you feel important this will remind you that you are not. This is how pubs should be. Helps if you wear a wig and out of fashion clothes.Vegetarian options: Nice selection of crisps.Dietary restrictions: Great pizzas and Claire's cooking on a Thursday some times.Kid-friendliness: Staff are very young.
