Cute chic little place that allows dogs. I'm not a dog owner but love animals. From the car park entrance, you wouldn't think much of the place from the outside, but it's lovely and chilled inside with plants everywhere, and the food is absolutely delicious. The veggie crisps came out warm, and everything tasted fresh and wonderful. I loved it so much that I finished off my grandmother's food that she couldn't manage. Definitely be back.

Very nice and the offer gluten free, but I do have to say they are a little more expensive than others in the town.

Love this place. Fab food, always busy, great atmosphere. We will keep coming back!Wheelchair accessibility: Toilets are upstairs and I'm not aware of a disabled loo on ground floor so those with restricted mobility might find it tricky.

Rather expensive to be honest, limited menu. And why can't customers pay in cash??

Lovely cosy cafe with great, attentive staff. Amazing food and gluten free options! I had a full English and had to have a cake to take away as they were all gluten free and delish! Definitely recommend.

Excellent breakfast.

Lovely little café with a friendly atmosphere. I had beetroot latte and banana bread, which were both very tasty. It's great to have a cafe that you can take dogs into.

Really nice, local independent coffee shop and cafe. Always welcoming and friendly, never offhand or uninterested. Inside and outside seating, dog friendly. Great coffee which is much better than the local branch of a national chain, and better priced, too.Haven't tried the food but the cake is very good, on my visits it's been more flapjacks and traybakes than proper slices of cake, but they're very good.

I'm going to leave a review which I believe to be fair and honest based on my first visit here this morning. Myself and a friend visited The Duck and Bean for breakfast 07/11/23, as a birthday treat for my friends birthday. The place itself is lovely, clean and tidy, I couldn't fault that and we were pleased to get a table. We looked at the menu and both decided we would have a Duck and Bean Breakfast for £12.50 and a pot of Tea each, we were charged £17.90 each, so my friend questioned, how much was the Tea? It turned out that when we were ordering our breakfasts, we asked if we could exchange our black puddings, my friend requested a sausage instead and I requested a piece of bacon, instead of the black pudding, the lady tapped away on the till and gave the impression, that was fine, it wasn't until my friend questioned the bill of £17.90? and asked her, how much the Tea was, that we were told swaps are not allowed and it is written on the Menu, my friend and I had over looked this as it isn't highlighted or in bold text and we hadn't read as far down as that to be fair. It turned out we had been charged for extras, my friend for extra sausages and I, for my extra bacon, this wasn't made clear to us when we asked at the till to swap the black pudding, neither of the 2 staff members, said at that point, no sorry we are unable to do that as swaps are not allowed, not until after I had already paid my bill! It wasn't until my friend who was paying her bill and questioned the price of the Tea that they owned up to the fact we hadn't actually swapped anything and had been charged more for the extras we had both thought we were swapping. Anyway we had both paid our bills, a bit put out and disappointed that the staff had been dishonest at the till. We waited around half an hour for both breakfasts to arrive (the Tea came quite quickly) The food arrived, you could tell it was good quality food and cooked to order, sadly it was luke warm and that's being generous, the potatoes were red hot, going by this I think our food had been left on the side whilst the potatoes were still cooking, also they arrived without the black pudding which we expected to receive at that point given that we hadn't swapped it and had paid £12.50 for it, my friend had to ask for the black puddings to be brought to the table, as we had paid for them and although we won't eat them, her dogs will. I ended up with 4 rashers of bacon and my friend 4 sausages, obviously far too much for 2 ladies, but as we thought we were swapping, this is what happens, we ended up with a full doggy box! We were offered no sauces or salt and pepper, my friend had to go to the counter to ask for some. The salt and pepper came out in little pots with a spoon, very bizarre and totally unhygienic in my opinion, I contemplated, how many people had put their fingers in the salt and pepper instead of using the little spoons provided. The tea was nice, nice size pot, only down side is, it is tea leaves, which although was very nice at first, as I had nowhere to put my tea leaves they had to stay sat in the pot rendering the tea undrinkable after about 2 small cups, as it was by this point far too strong, I love my Tea strong but even I couldn't drink it. All in all, not the worst place I've visited but definitely not one of the best either. I and my friend found the young staff far from friendly after the issue at the till when we ordered, we felt they were unapproachable so just put up with it and left as soon as we finished. We did get the feeling it was all too much trouble and I very much doubt that we will return back here sadly due to our experience.

Went back to this place for the first time in several years - it's been Duck and Bean since 2020. It's tucked away off the high street, but definitely worth seeking out. It was quite busy too, but there is seating outside as well as in. The food is really good - delicious breakfasts and lunch options with incredible flavours. Recommend the ham hock hash for breakfast and the Monte Christo for lunch. Coffee was excellent too. Service fast and very friendly. Toilets are up some very steep stairs so not recommended if you need accessible ones - it's an old building with thick walls so I had no mobile signal inside either, but these aren't complaints - I really loved it. Will be back as often as I can!
