Often meet here with friends for an afternoon cuppa and a piece of cake which is always excellent. Elsie Mays has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff are always pleasant and helpful. Today I brought my daughter in law and grandson for breakfast. I didn’t think to book in advance and when we got there it was very busy but the waitress was brilliant and went out of her way to find us a table. Called in after shopping in Tiverton for a coffee break before heading home, but got seduced into a sausage and egg bap.( OK i heard it calling to me.)..Was wonderful, sausages very tasty, egg was cooked to exactly the right stage of runnyness. Large coffee is also great, this is the place to grab a light (or not so light) bite. There is plenty of choice on the menu, staff all excellent and fast service, call in if in area its well worth it.

We had a lovely high tea on Saturday (best to book in advance, as always busy in the summer.Great home made cakes and sandwiches, they also do hot meals.Shop could do with a fresh lick of paint but otherwise really friendly helpful staff and prices are reasonable.
