Feel absolutely compelled to write a review and say thank you to everyone at the Mitre Inn for a fantastic Mother’s Day meal.The hospitality was awesome and nothing was too much trouble.We all totally enjoyed our home cooked food - 10/10We will definitely be back and I thoroughly recommend this cosy and atmospheric 17th inn.

I rarely write a review but the food I have had both times I have come to this pub is exceptional. Having eaten at a wide range of places this is one of the best I have been to. The small additional touches to the food make such a difference clearly cooked by a very talented chef, and very reasonably priced too.

Wow six of us just returned from a lovely two night stay at the Mitre Andy his lovely wife and all the staff are amazing nothing is too much trouble the ales the food is really good we have stayed before and will definitely be back thanks Andy and all for a brill time . Came for Sunday lunch and got a warm welcome from the publican. All the staff were really helpful and pleasant. The meal itself was delicious, and when we explained that my husband follows a gluten free diet, everything from Yorkshire pudding to gravy was GF. Roast potatoes were crisp, and the beef and veg were locally sourced and freshly cooked. Superb. Although we we went for the traditional roast option, I was tempted by other items on the menu. Good atmosphere and reasonable prices. Recommended.

We popped in while on a weekend away, and we got the dining room, to ourselves. It felt like a private dining experience.The food was amazing and wine chilled to perfection.The manager was super friendly and accommodating.

We visited on a Tuesday lunch time and were able to choose anything off the menu even though it was a quiet time. The staff were very friendly and obliging.We all chose a different selection and the food was delicious and plentiful.There is a good selection of beer and wines.The pub itself is a beautiful old coaching house type of place with bags of room and spotlessly clean. It is also dog friendly.We will definitely be revisiting.

My sister and I met up here today for lunch. Was greeted warmly and we sat outside in the sun. Lunch was delicious with lots of choice and a really good price point and a decent serving. Even the side salad was super tasty. Will defo be back. Thank you and sorry we hogged the table for so long from all our chatting! XFood & drinks: Fantastic menu choice at a great price. I'm 10 months pregnant and have gestational diabetes and could happily find lots of eat on the menu which wouldn't spike my sugars too much. Not usually that lucky if I'm out and about!

From making the reservation over the phone the Mitre Inn was very welcoming. The Inn has a nice friendly traditional atmosphere, our meal was very good, nicely presented and well priced.Thank you for a nice evening.
My dog Bodhi and I stayed here at the end of this stage of The Two Moors Way walk. Barbara was incredible with sorting out gluten free and vegan food options for me, and the food was some of the best gluten free vegan food I’ve ever had. Andy was great fun to chat to in the bar and made me feel very welcome. The room was good with great black out curtains for a good nights sleep, They provided blankets and a treat for Bodhi and really looked after us. A great stay!

Visited here last night to be told it would be at least an hour before we could have a table. My wife and I were publicans for many years and NEVER EVER turned custom away. How times have changed. Not long ago the hospitality industry were crying out to be helped by the government. Perhaps they have had too much help if they can afford to turn a disabled couple in their 70s away. Yes, we are disabled and struggled in despite there being no disabled access. Sorry Mr Landlord we WILL NOT BE BACK

We eat here often because to eat and for a drink it's one of the best eating places around here. Most deliscious food which never fails to impress. Fantastic place inside and outside on the sunny terrace.The staff are really friendly and helpful too.

We hadn’t visited for some time but we needn’t have worried.The beer was as good as ever and the food was excellent with good gluten free optionsWe didn’t book but there are quite a few covers, it might be advisable for weekends or bank holidays.Thanks guys
