Wow six of us just returned from a lovely two night stay at the Mitre Andy his lovely wife and all the staff are amazing nothing is too much trouble the ales the food is really good we have stayed before and will definitely be back thanks Andy and all for a brill time . Came for Sunday lunch and got a warm welcome from the publican. All the staff were really helpful and pleasant. The meal itself was delicious, and when we explained that my husband follows a gluten free diet, everything from Yorkshire pudding to gravy was GF. Roast potatoes were crisp, and the beef and veg were locally sourced and freshly cooked. Superb. Although we we went for the traditional roast option, I was tempted by other items on the menu. I rarely write a review but the food I have had both times I have come to this pub is exceptional. Having eaten at a wide range of places this is one of the best I have been to. The small additional touches to the food make such a difference clearly cooked by a very talented chef, and very reasonably priced too.
