Our second visit to Man Fridays as good as the first. The food was exceptional and being left alone to eat and enjoy the company is what this place is about. The shared seafood Platter is a spread of food and only the exceptionally large appetite will need a side of chips. I love that this place is only open Thursday and Fridays. Whenever in Torquay it is now my go to place. I do not consider the prices to be high for peace and quite and good food.

As seasoned travellers with a fetish for seafood we’ve certainly tested the opposition and sadly this place just doesn’t cut the mustard. It’s a shame as the food itself wasn’t bad, the crab and lobster were tasty, as were the mussels, and presentation was good but that’s where it stops. Initial gut reaction was lack of a welcome. No smiles, and the manager who seemed to be the only member of staff on the floor the whole night is definitely in the wrong job! He clearly isn’t enjoying himself! He walked off mid conversation twice! He’s Very reluctant to engage in more than 3/4 words he didn’t ask at any point “How’s your meal?”and as pointed out previously is definitely cut out for the remake of Faulty Towers! The biggest problem here is value for money. It’s a minimum of two courses, so even though my partner didn’t have a starter or main, Manuel still charged us for it. £145 is very steep, and despite paying £47pp plus £12 supplement for the seafood platter totalling £106 for two people to have one platter. This includes no sides!!!! It’s £4 each for chips and £4 for salad. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask! If you can’t throw a few fries in with it’s a sorry state of affairs! The wine was nice but the one we chose is £7 in the supermarket but £25 in here! So despite the food being quite nice, we would never recommend or return as the lack of service was quite shocking and sadly the owner is clearly pushing boundaries with an over priced menu, trying to squeeze every last penny out of the customers. The chef is clearly the best thing in the restaurant but the owners lack of hospitality as previous comments confirm let’s this place down. Certainly not on par with the various other seafood restaurants visited in recent years.

We came across this restaurant just walking around. It was peak time on a Saturday night and not busy at all. How can this be?? This restaurant is amazing. They didn't have the specials on, but with the seafood platter on the menu this really doesn't matter. Didn't bother with starter. The platter could easily have fed 3 people with the fries. Dessert also lovely. The quality and quantity of the food made this excellent value for money.

We had a meal last night which was for my friend and my birthdays. We booked a table for 7.30 and arrived we ordered drinks then our food. My friend and I ordered the share seafood platter which was nice although the lobster was very chewing but on the whole fine. We went to order desserts after chatting after our meal and we were told the kitchen was closed and they send staff home early to save on the wages it was about 9pm we had No one come to our table to ask if we wanted desserts as the kitchen was closing we were really disappointed as we had spent £265 on our meal. I think more time spent on your customers and less socialising at the bar and perhaps some staff who can understand English would be a good idea. The staff were good and polite but they need to be able to understand what customers are asking for and not have to get someone else to repeat their order. We left feeling our evening was incomplete and unfortunately would not return.

Great seafood restaurant, hidden at the Harbour. Only open Thursday-Saturday so book!. Owner is in training to be Basil Fawlty. If you can handle that the food is superb. Recommend the Seafood platter for two at £82, it’s a lot but we’ll worth it with a whole lobster ? … don’t have a starter you won’t need it !

A very small restaurant, family business. We celebrated our 25th anniversary there yesterday. Although we didn't get the nibbles but we ordered garlic mushrooms and scallops and sea bass and lobster. The food was FANTASTIC! Everything tasted great and was beautifully presented! The staff were friendly. We highly recommend this place!

The seafood is exceptional, one of the best in Torquay with great views over the harbour, this is the 5th time we've ate here and loved everything except the service, we'll put up with that for great food

Unfortunately on my last visits to this restaurant we ordered a share seafood platter. Much to our disappointment. The lobster in particular was very overcooked like some of the other items. Unfortunately there was strips of greasy battered fish and a quarter plate of mixed salads. I've been too many seafood restaurants and this one in particular is far from a 5 star. Regarding service, the older gentleman who works there should probably take a leaf out of the other staffs book we found him to be rather abrupts and quite rude.I would like to have left a good review but unfortunately on this occasion I can only recommends one star

Great find, nice to see a decent sized platter for 2 that is reasonably priced. Only thing to not be 5 stars would be that the mussels were pretty poor and they gave us tap water, where the glass ware had been washed in the glasswasher with garlic.

Seafood platter was amazing. Lobster, scallops, prawns , mussels, langoustine, monkfish all perfect. Service also was excellent. Best seafood I've had in a long time!! Would recommend 100%

We popped into this amazing seafood restaurant on a whim. The entrance is just down a little side street and you go upstairs. Sat on the balcony overlooking Torquay Harbour and had THE most amazing seafood platter for two. Honestly the best meal I’ve ever had. Staff were lovely. Friendly and helpful. We are fabulous fresh food and watched the sunset. Totally perfect. One of Torquay’s gems. Highly recommended. If you live fresh quality seafood, amazing views and top class service definitely try this one.
