Decided to go for a Mother’s Day meal here after booking a table we had to wait for out table after being shown to our seat walking past the carvery I thought Uggh it’s the all the left overs that could only be described as a school dinner old and and stale remnants of food. Being served by a really rude waitress rolling her eyes. The food was disgusting and the worst carvery I have ever had. When we went to pay the girl on the till she had ginger hair was so rude. The rest of the family paid for what food they had separately and my mother mentioned the meat was tough and a man with a Liverpudlian accent came marching over calling my mother a liar. So my mother said she won’t be back and all he kept saying was Whatever and as my family walked out he told my mum to shut up. It’s disgraceful my mum is blind and yet they just didn’t care one iota. Do not recommend bad food bad service.

Staff, building and location were spot on. Only slight gripe was the roast potato's had the skin on and not great at all. Rest of the food was decent

Gents in Bar are like a small Portable Toilet Cabin placed in quite a large pub.,for a carvery I expect better facilities.

Went for a Sunday lunch carvery. Lovely spot up on Babbacombe Downs looking out over the sea. Service was good. There was a good selection of tasty veg to go with a plentiful supply of well-cooked meat. Personally, I prefer crisper parsnips, but it was all good and a nice atmosphere.

A star for the lovely service andanitgerstar for delicious side salad. The rest of the food dreadful, insulting they served it. Could be described as bargain bucket from Iceland...We won't be back for another 5 years... Sad lost opportunity for this location

Visited for Sunday carvery. Food as always hot and plenty of variety of vegetables. Unfortunately roast potatoes & parsnips not crispy after sitting under warming lights. Also, baby potatoes undercooked so will not be selected next visit. The rest of the food wonderful.Staff appeared to be hanging around with 5 of them at one point in one location seemingly with nothing to do. Could use time more effectively, proactiveness works best in a busy restaurant lunch service!

This was an excellent quiz night highly recommend was good to see Chris back doing quizes a blast from the past and all my antique friends really enjoyed themselves.. Will definitely come again...A+++ to all staff and teams that did the quiz as all teams were really great on the night.

Had sunday lunch last month never again. They used tin potatoes for roasting, roast onions swiming in liquid, frozen yorkshire pudding.( i'm fussy when it's Sunday lunch but that's me). excellent serving staff. If your looking for an out standing sunday lunch i recomend the balmoral hotel Torquay excellent price for a three course meal, book a table you will not be disappointed.Adrian.
