The best restaurant in the area, excellent service, everything runs smoothly even when they are very busy. The food is superb, good presentation, consistently beautifully cooked.

This was a lucky find as we were intending to eat elsewhere on Babbacombe front but they were fully booked due to the theatre. A quick Google suggested the Thatch as an alternative in roughly the right direction to our journey. Husband, who was driving, was concerned on the dark narrow lanes to here "this place better be ok!... " however once we were stood in the friendly, welcoming bar area then shown to the quiet, relaxed charming ambience of the dining room all was forgiven! It was Fish and Chip £10 Friday so I opted for that asI wanted to test it against the place we ate similar on the Quay at Brixham a few days before (yours won! ) Husband had pie of the day (steak and madeira) which was also excellent and was a large individual proper pie which was obviously home made. Very filling too. Staff were friendly and genuine with just the right mix of attentive but not overpowering too. It would be great to return in the summer and experience the garden area with the stunning views and wood fired pizza oven. I bet it's amazing. I'm so pleased the place in Babbacombe wouldn't seat us... Everything happens for a reason.Food & drinks: Different specials on different nights. Gastro pub with an a la carte menu and pub menu too. Excellent food.

Had a fantastic meal with my parents. We had the curry as it was Curry Wednesday. Didn’t fancy the rice, asked if we could swop to chips - absolutely no problem. Our meals were hot, fresh, came with a naan too - exceptional value and most importantly the food and service were 1st class - we all commented that it was the best curry we’ve had for a long time.Well done Thatched Tavern - great job :)

Had Sunday lunch with the family and it was the best roast we've had in a while. Eaten at many nice places and the Thatched Tavern was the best. Fantastic food and service would highly recommend. Compliments to all staff.

Our first visit , food and service excellent can’t fault it , my partner ordered arctic cod and I had beef fillet all dishes cooked to perfection, also no lies on a fancy plate like in some of the “Gastro pubs” around . Keep it up

Pre booked and ordered in advance as a large group. Had a few allergies within the group and the choices were not the best gor them but chose a starter as a main and confirmed we would accept the extra cost but the starter size was given. We were told the staff did not like attending our table but we were all polite and also left a 30.00 tip so we couldn't have been that bad. I have had a roast before just 2 people but that was lovely so perhaps it is the large parties they struggle with.

Lovely food (from the non bar menu) which was freshly cooked. You will need to buy sides! Lovely atmosphere and staff were attentive. All 3 courses were excellent and we would definitely come again.
