Cafes in Totnes

“Great to be in a busy traditional pub. Excellent service from the friendly chap behind the bar both Monday & Tuesday. The food was excellent, homemade lasagna & steak pie was really tasty & well presented. Will definitely return when we're next in the area.”

“The Lighthouse Cafe is one of those quirky places you’ll be glad you found. This is NOT a fast food cafe, but the atmosphere, games, chill music and conversations with other tables soon passes the time. The quickest I’ve had to wait for a breakfast is 20 minutes, the longest was an hour (the poor lady was on her own with a full cafe).Their homemade beans are scrumptious, the food is well cooked and delicious.Bring cash as they don’t take cards, and there is zero phone signal inside the cafe. So put away your phone, and strike up a conversation with those around you.”

“Came here for breakfast with my partner as a little treat, as our holiday comes to an end. Very cute little cafe that smelt delicious as soon as we walked in. The food was as good as it smelt and for a great price. They were also flexible with any different preferences of food.Vegetarian options: I could add in or take out different foods.”

“Went in this morning but they had an issue with their coffee grinder which they were working hard to fix. By the time I’d finished my tea it was back up and running and they gave me a free coffee to take away. Great customer service.”

“Enjoyed our lunch at this Café. Wonderful service with good food and plenty of choices. Prices are reasonable and portions good. The staff were amazing and really welcoming and friendly. It gets quite busy and with limited seating, it could be hard to find a table. Loved the scones with clotted cream, jacket potatoes and soup. They usually have soup of the day. Definitely recommend it.”

“A lovely find here in Devon offering a wonderful array of home and lifestyle items. We managed to find some beautiful gifts for our family. We will certainly visit again.”

“All round a nice place to go but, the menu could do with a few more classics to take it to the next level.we both went for the French toast with cashew butter and compote. The French toast itself was done very well, but the bitterness of the compote was not particularly well set-off by the cashew butter. I think something sweet or simply adding a classic option such as banana and maple would be beneficial. The pain au chocolat were OK, but clearly not made that day as they didn’t have that crunch.Parking: Good sized car park, no issues to find a space.Kid-friendliness: Children welcome, high chairs available.”

“Lovely, big place, with healthy options and tasty food. Very continental feeling, currently, as they have many foreign employees, which gives it a lovely city feel, but in the heart of the country.Sat outside in the open air. There were water bowls for dogs and it's very dog friendly inside and out. Top marks. Make sure you get your table number before ordering, otherwise the very efficient gent at the till may be mildly admonishing ? We'll come again. We walked from Totnes (3 miles ?) so don't know about parking pricesVegetarian options: Many vegetarian options. We had smoked tofu burger (yum 10/10) and aubergine flatbread (7/10)Wheelchair accessibility: Open, flat, with ramps”

“A lovely, delightful ‘old fashioned’ looking tea room with lots of beams. I had cappuccino with lemon/blueberry cake which was so moist and tasty. Generous size too - took half away with me. The cafe was constantly busy with two people taking orders, preparing food and collecting payment. They were very efficient and totally unflappable. Well done. BTW their crab sandwiches seemed very popular.”

“It's a good old fashioned Indian restaurant. The food is good quality and freshly cooked. The service can be great but also sometimes a little bit dismissive. I was shocked going twice in a short space of time recently - the prices had almost doubled overnight (admittedly they were low before). Also the portion sizes for side dishes had radically diminished in the restaurant from previous visits. On balance I would recommend it - but for me it's too expensive now.Vegetarian options: Good optionsDietary restrictions: They can make dishes vegan.”
