Bit pricey great location....no real beer.

Known locally as 'Cafe Debris' because of the piles of fishing rubbish on the roof that the new owners somehow think will attract customers and not rats. Owners have clearly not worked in hospitality before and are out to make money rather than give customers decent food, coffee and an enjoyable experience. location lovely but we take a packed lunch and flask and sit on the public benches. Exactly the same view but without the rudeness and with better food.

Nice location next to the river as the name suggests.Quick transaction at the till and polite helpful staff.Ice cream sundae was completely melted by the time it was served so essentially a milkshake with brownies in it.Would I eat or drink here again is just a matter of can I be bothered, I’ve only visited this cafe once so they might been having an off day in the kitchen who knows as I’ve only got this first impression to go on.On the plus side for parents of small children there’s a play frame in the shape of a ship which will keep them occupied while you have a rest.Stop and try them out would be my recommendation although I have marked them down for my visit it’s a nice location with plenty of tables and lovely on a sunny day. There is also plenty of space inside on a day when it’s less sunny.

Great location, lovely to sit outside by the water. Stopped for lunch & had 2 panini’s & drinks. Food was served quickly & piping hot.

We've lived close by for a while and finally decided to head across and try them out. I ordered three sausage rolls & some juices for the kids - they ran out of sausage rolls but this was swiftly solved with a complimentary 'upgrade' to a pasty, Food arrived in good time and each with a small salad. Delicious food, excellent/friendly/helpful service, and one of the best views of any cafe in Totnes! We'll definitely be heading back again soon.

This place is really going downhill fast - such a shame. It's lost its identity, from the ramshackle mess of signage perched on top to the mixed messages about opening hours - some evenings it looks open but isn't, some evenings it looks closed but still has a 'pizza' sign outside. From a hopeful start with a nice new menu including smoked fish and avocado dishes, to these dishes being almost immediately removed from the menu but not from the printed menu, which causes endless disappointment and confusion. Now the menu has been reduced down further to, well, not very much. Order poached eggs on toast and you get two pitiful specimens on a soggy, margarine-saturated piece of 'sourdough.' Try the 'full English breakfast' and get a greasy plate of deep-fried cheap frozen produce that leaves you with stomach ache. Buy three small scoops of ice-cream at the takeaway and spend £10 on it. The coffee isn't bad, but the service is surly, numbers being yelled outside so loudly that it's impossible to have a conversation. The pizza nights are not working either, hardly surprising as there are so many other places in Totnes where you can get one and this cafe is opposite the ever-popular Steam Packet where food is fresh and delicious and also has the riverside setting. Such a shame. Locals are avoiding this place now and trade is reliant on the influx of riverboat passengers who alight alongside. However, when summer finishes I'm not quite sure what on earth will be providing the income for this place. It could have been so much more.

Decided to try the veggie breakfast, cooked well, warm plate makes all the difference, excellent location next to the river with Seals to be seen at certain times of year.I'd recommend coming here even just for coffee as nice and relaxing.

The shrimp/prawns was like coop standard. The jacket potato was microwaved. The milk for the milkshake was sour and gave me a belly ache

We went for tea & a scone each. Stupidly we didn't check the menu beforehand for the price. 2 teas & 1 scone each £15! Teas were £2.70 each that's expensive microwaved scones! As a local I was totally horrified & questioned it. Young girls were lovely but obviously just doing their job. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. There are many decent cafes in Totnes that will serve much better standard of food

This cafe was absolutely lovely! The atmosphere was friendly, polite and happy! The young ladies working the till for us were welcoming, friendly and both had a smile on their face! Our bacon (with hash brown) Baps were near enough perfect! The Bap itself was delicious and the hash browns were cooked amazingly!Highly highly recommend!Would give 6/5 but I can’t unfortunately!

Just had coffee and tea both excellent quality. I met a friend and we sat outside, lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Spotlessly clean. Staff friendly and professional.Parking: A few car spaces of free parking but a few yards further is a huge pay and display parking

I have used the food delivery service on several occasions for work events and the food and service has been great ?

£26.50 for 2 full English breakfasts and two teas was totally overpriced. Poor quality produce, best bit was the sourdough bread. They didn’t have avocado or fish and they use cheap nasty sauces. Won’t be going back.
