Staying the night in Yarcombe on a bike tour and decided to head to this nearby pub hoping for a traditional homely meal — steak and kidney pie with apple crumble for pudding was specifically in mind. As luck would have it, Wednesdays are Thai-only night so settled for spring rolls, a beef main course with rice and a chicken main course (no pudding available sadly)…. One of the warmest & most friendly pubs, I have ever visited. I stayed in this lovely village via Airbnb for two nights & from the moment we entered the Kings Arms, we were greeted with huge smiles & friendly greetings from staff & locals alike. So much so, that we're were very kindly invited on a locals organised walk event the next day (which was great) and everyone were so friendly & welcoming. Enjoyed a fantastic 1 night stay here with an evening meal.The welcome, service and room were just what we needed. Landlord Ben is a true gent and a fun guy, chatted to locals who were in for their Friday night drink and all were lovely and welcoming. The pub is an atmospheric 16c gem.Loved it, loved the food especially the superb cooked breakfast, live the local Otter lager and loved the welcome and service.Thanks to all!!!!
