We eat there as often as we can, iit is our Local, the staff a good fun & interact with Customers Accordingly,The Food is good honest pub food, & you gave a great selection of Drinks for every palate, if I had to criticise I would say they need another Real Ale, the One they have is great, but sometimes it is nice to try other Real Ales....If you have not visited yet it would be highly recommended that you do...Graham Roper is the Land Lord since 1966, making him one of the longest serving Land Lords in one place, in Great Britain, if not the Longest Serving (58th Year) go grab a piece of history to add to your experience while Visiting Abbotsbury....

We called in to the swan inn several times in 2023 every time we called in we had a great welcome and excellent food we are looking forward to going back in marchWheelchair accessibility: There is one step to enter the building we were lucky a local man helped me and the owner of the pub was sorting out a small ramp

We are a group of friends who were staying in Abbotsbury and we ate and drank in this lovely local pub a few times during our stay. I had contacted the pub by phone a few weeks prior to our stay as we wanted to book a table for 7 for Sunday lunch and I spoke to the chef, Andy who advised us to come in bit early as they also had a party of 21 in that day. The pub has a specials board with a number of dishes which are in addition to their standard menu and offer traditional roast on Sunday. Every meal we had was delicious, well presented and the accompanying vegetables were fresh rather than the frozen ones you are so often presented with in other pubs. They had Butcombe ale on tap, and a good selection of wines. The pub was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we were given such a good welcome every time we went in. A big thank you to Shell, Andy and Graham. See you next year!

Recommended by our hotel we travelled out to the 'Swan' located in an attractive village, with outside seating it's a typical country pub that also serves food. You order from a comprehensive menu at the bar and service was speedy and friendly. The food itself was tasty and came in decent portions. Reasonably priced. Off street parking.

Disappointing, stopped spontaneous but had read a couple of good reviews so expectations were high. My husband had the pie with fresh veg & potatoes- which he states as good. I had the lasagne which was bland, first mouthful was hot but got cooler nearer the middle, I should have complained but had eaten too much before I realised it being cold in the centre. Flies everywhere which I detest around especially when eating. Atmosphere was horrid few locals with crap music on, not a pleasant experience & wasted money, left highly disappointed.

I really enjoyed my lasagne and my husband had a large plate of cheddar ploughman's. Unfortunately we could smell the chip oil as we entered the pub, please change your oil. Also no atmosphere as I think they must rely on customers to pay to put music on.

Popped in on a random drive through Abbotsbury and was delighted to find they were happy for us to park our motorhome overnight in their car park. We ate in their pretty beer garden and the food was delicious. There were at least 4 vegan options, I chose the Penang Curry which didn’t disappoint. Hubby had a shepherd’s pie which he enjoyed. They even sold doggy ice cream and provided a water bowl for my pooches. We will definitely be returning!
