The Old School House

1 Back St, Abbotsbury, Weymouth

On a rather wet day, we stopped in Abbotsbury looking for a cosy lunch spot. The dining room was quiet, but we were warmly welcomed on arrival and soon had delicious bowls of homemade spicy carrot and coriander soup to warm us up. The menu had several light lunch and afternoon tea options and there were lots of tasty looking cakes and scones on covered stands, but the soup and bread were quite filling so we didn’t try them. A lovely lunch. The only thing to flag is that the loos are public ones next door, entailing a walk outside in the rain.

Very nice cafe in the middle of picturesque village of Abbotsbury. Steve is brilliant with his friendliness and wit. Very popular with his locals too. The food is always freshly made.My friends and I like to go there as often as we can. Steve is an asset to the village.

Stumbled upon Cherries whilst walking. The menu had a great choice. I loved the loaded ice coffee; better than Costa and Starbucks! The staff were friendly and asked how we were! I’d highly recommend!! The flapjack was yum! They had a variety of snacks to keep us fueled for the rest of our walk!

We eat there as often as we can, iit is our Local, the staff a good fun & interact with Customers Accordingly,The Food is good honest pub food, & you gave a great selection of Drinks for every palate, if I had to criticise I would say they need another Real Ale, the One they have is great, but sometimes it is nice to try other Real Ales....If you have not visited yet it would be highly recommended that you do...Graham Roper is the Land Lord since 1966, making him one of the longest serving Land Lords in one place, in Great Britain, if not the Longest Serving (58th Year) go grab a piece of history to add to your experience while Visiting Abbotsbury....
