We went as a party of 19 for Sunday Lunch. Staff in both the restaurant and the bar/lounge area were really welcoming, friendly and very accomodating. Food was 3 courses, choice of starters and deserts. Main course was a carvery - very good selection of beef, pork, turkey and even battered fish. The beef was particularly excellent. Oscar's is housed in the Royal Bath Hotel. This must have been a wonderful hotel in the days of Oscar Wilde who visited but now the glory days are over. It needs a wealthy person from Dubai to spend millions on a refurbishment and restore it to its former glory. And for that matter all of the gorgeous Victorian/Edwardian architecture in Bournemouth. What has happened to this town it use to be a heavenly, elegeant place to visit.

We stay at the Royal Bath Hotel regularly because of it’s Victorian splendour but also because we love being able to choose our salad / vegetables / meat / fish from their delicious brasserie restaurant. Buffet restaurants are very popular abroad but very rare in England! Long may it continue!
