The most wonderful fish and chips! But my dessert was dry and kind of grim. I had two bites but the waiter just cleared it without asking if there was an issue.

I had the fish soup and it was awesome. Was in a group of six and everyone enjoyed their food. Quite busy (new years eve) but staff were very friendly.

Went in for some tea and cake after a long walk along the beach. The staff were pleasant and polite, service was fast and the cake was delicious, my wife had the lemon drizzle cake and I had the chocolate chip cake. Both were decent sized slices, and with the two pots of tea was a reasonable £12.

The food was nice. I had fish masala, my wife had delicious tuna salad. Highly recommending. Friendly service. In Polish: dobre jedzenie. Jakość do ceny bardzo dobra. Polecam.

Friendly, young service. Very disappointing fish soup considering its expense. Tasted like tinned tomatoes. Not much fish. Croutons disintegrated into the soup beforehand with second rate sauce. I have seen this cafe over ten+ years get more commercial and expensive, trying to be 'smart'.

Menu, food, staff and little shop are all lovely. Fish and chips was excellent. The interior of the cafe looks a bit run down however and the plastic windows of the marquee are so clouded that you can’t see the beach.

Lovely place right on the beach. Tasty food and friendly staff.Vegetarian options: They offer a good vegetarian option for the english breakfast. And have other vegetarian options on the menu.

Usually eat inside when visiting Hive Beach. Today though for a change a takeaway coffee & crab sandwich. Both very good. Crab sandwich particularly tasty & packed with crab. Really nicely presented too, especially considering a takeaway. Served in a recyclable container with fresh salad & homemade crisps. Really good, only reason for a mark off is that very expensive.

Ordered a Victoria sponge which arrived in prepacked plastic . My crab sandwich although well presented was mixed in some sort of tomato dressing and could have been any type of fish. Won’t be back. Very dissatisfied. John . Midhurst

We have been here before and returned because it was so good. The service was friendly, efficient and swift. We both enjoyed our menu choices of fresh fish.

Don't be fooled by the term "Beach Cafe"... this is a fantastic place to eat. The fish dishes on offer are the best around. The service is great and the views are amazing. If you like fish (there are other dishes on offer) a visit to The Hive beach cafe is a

Some of the best simply stunning food I have eaten. I'm not sure what more I need to say?

A collection of small wooden buildings, large marquee and outdoor patio overlooking a very popular beach and next to a National Trust car park, this is a pleasant place to stop for light refreshments, a snack or a meal. Tables and chairs are simple and quite close together, but suitable for the place. The young staff are very friendly, service is brisk and the choice of food and drink very good, ranging from soup, sandwiches and cakes to the expensive locally-caught fish and seafood, including lobster. We’ll worth a visit.
