We ate on a Saturday lunch for a big family dinner! Incredible food, fresh local produce and all home made. I had the pate to start followed by the sausage and mash. Homemade focaccia toast, rich buttery pate. Thick flavourful sausages and the mash was out of this world! Highly recommend. Beautiful surroundings, decor modern yet cosy country style! Staff were adorable. Thank you! Highly recommend xxxxVegetarian options: Delicious alternatives were offeredDietary restrictions: They catered well for our guests including vegan, children and gluten free

This is a truly wonderful pub. We stayed in Loders (the village) for a week and went to the pub for drinks and food a number of times. It’s cosy, friendly, and the couple who run it are absolutely lovely. The food is superb - a much higher standard than most pubs and many restaurants we’ve been to. Even our enormous bear sized dog was made very welcome. It’s a gem!Vegetarian options: Veggie and fish/seafood options on every menu

What an amazing pub! We turned with no booking, a request to stay in our campervan in the Carpark and a nervous dog. Despite being busy, they were amazingly accommodating and welcoming. The staff were really helpful and made Daisy (the dog) feel right at home with strokes and biscuits! The food was out of this world, you have to have dessert! And the locals topped it off with their inclusive chatter and obviously pride in their home village. We’re already planning our next trip, which will definitely include another visit to this wonderful little gem.Vegetarian options: They’ve done veggie options probably here! Not a Beyond Meat burger insight! Well thought out, fresh, delicious food!

I'm afraid due to the incompetence of the one bar man the evening was spoilt. we had a nice meal, nothing special as the meat in the cottage pie was a cheap cut and lacked flavour, more seasoning was needed. I ordered the meal at the bar and paid on card using the tap and pay facility, however as i found out later the barman had not checked the payment had gone through properly, this led to the proprietor challenging me about the payment in the street after paying for the drinks and leaving. We were not offered any apology just made to feel guilty? I had paid as far as I was aware,I believe it's the barman's job to check if the payment is taken correctly. We would have used the pub for drinks, for another week, obviously now I could not recommend the pub.

My husband said this was the best roast he'd ever had in a pub and I don't disagree. The roast meat was itself delicious as well as all the trimmings. Good price as well. Pub itself has a lovely cosy atmosphere and service was spot on. Shame we were only in Dorset for the weekend as we would definitely visit again.

We stayed here as it was advertised on Brit Stops. Dog friendly pub and Harriet and Matt were so friendly. We stayed overnight in the car park, which was brilliant with the levellers. Wonderful cooked food and drinks, locals were so friendly. WiFi offered too. I would highly recommend coming here. Set back off the main roads, bit a little hidden gem We will be coming back.

Excellent freshly cooked meal, reasonably priced for the quality of the food. Particularly recommend the mackerel Caesar salad, rosemary focaccia and the plum clafoutis. Very friendly.

We arrived wet, dripping and too late for the kitchen. They took us in and fed us anyway with such warmth and welcome. Food noticeably good. The kitchen knows what it is doing. Under new management since June. Completely redecorated: cosy, atmospheric and stylish.

Oh Linda M, you need a glass of happy juice next time you visit! We had a fantastic Sunday lunch, the roast lamb was unbelievably tender, excellent vegetables although we’d probably like our gravy a tad thicker! Lovely chocolate mousse. Guinness and wine were a fair price, very friendly staff, not sure why you’d be concerned at the prices Linda coming from London and good luck finding your perfect local! And good luck to the new landlords, we’ll definitely be back!
