I used to love the Ropemakers, My Wife and I used to take friends and family for drinks and good food. Which I must confess are of a high standard. Unfortunately I was not impressed when I went into this well known local pub on Friday last and presented them with a CAMRA money off voucher. 50p off a pint. The bar staff, after checking with the Manager refused to accept my voucher, despite the Rope Makers being a CAMRA member. So I probably won't be using the Rope Makers as my local again. I think the Woodman in South Street will be a better option

The pub was buzzing, certainly a good atmosphere. I ordered a Ploughman's and was only slightly disappointed, as it didn't seem to be an authentic Ploughman's. However, what was offered was very nice. Dog friendly. Staff friendly. Clean and tidy.

Lovely comfy dog friendly pub in Bridport. Visited today while Wife & Daughter looked around the shops. Friendly attentive staff, who kept making a fuss of the two dogs. Great selection of beers and spirits, plenty of seating in various areas throughout.

Good for music and atmosphere though live music is located within the middle of the pub, facing a wall!
