Attended a wedding and reception here. Stayed two nights and on the second night we had two extra fold up beds in our room for two young grandchildren (5 & 7 yrs) to join us.The staff couldn't have been more helpful and attentive both in respect of the wedding arrangements and the hotel service. The food was excellent throughout.I would have rated them five stars if there had been a more reasonable charge for small children at breakfast. The children were well looked after and made to feel special but in truth they eat like sparrows and that should be reflected in a sliding scale according to age.A minor point I know but I found it annoying. The rooms and wedding venue were brilliant. A lovely Pavilion for the cerimony, a private two storey building for the wedding breakfast and dancing/disco.In the centre of Christchurch with wonderful walks and scenery and history all around.Rooms: Very large, comfortable kings room with enormous bed, sofa and chairs. Clean and functional en suite.Noteworthy details: Limited free parking available at the front and rear of the hotel on a first come basis.A truly great location from which to explore Christchurch and the surrounding area.A perfect venue for a weddings and occasions.

We has a suprise 80th birthday lunch for 16 adults on Saturday. Thank you to Chamane, Lauren and the team for all your efforts to make our Dad's day so memorable. The food was really good, everyone in the group said the same.We will definitely be back soon and can't recommend The King's Arms enough, especially how accomodating and efficient they where for a large group.

Great venue for a party. Lovely scenery nearby. Our room was big and spacious, but the TV was small, a bigger room needs a bigger TV! A short taxi ride from Bournemouth and a very lovely team who worked really hard to make sure the party was excellent.

The food, to be fair, was delicious. It was late with small portions but I'd love to give the chef 5 stars for the cooking. We arrived at 1pm and didn't start eating until 2pm. We were given wrong menu at first then the Christmas set menu which we had prepaid, only to be told 10 minutes later that the kitchen didn't have most of the options so we had to eat off the standard lunch menu. I was disappointed that the vegetarian option was chilli non carne as that is about the most basic dish. So I resorted to the pan fried sea bream with orzo which was delicious but not really vegetarian. All my colleagues agreed their food was also very good. Our server, Charlotte, was friendly and helpful but the other server was rude and difficult and seemed to think that £7 for a pint of lime and soda was acceptable.Dessert was served 3 hours after we first arrived. So this place could have a 5 star rating as the food was actually really nice but FOH was badly organised and a couple of rude staff.Walkability: Ready flat walk to Christchurch High Street and the Priory.

This review is from our stay on 21/12/22.We got married at the kings arms hotel in 2023 so we’re looking forward to our anniversary stay. We did see shorty after our wedding the harbour group put the kings arms up for sale but we still thought the level of service would still remain. How wrong we were.We checked in with a friendly girl on reception and went up to our room. The room was well presented and clean but could hear the music from the bar area so went to reception to see if we could be moved to another room. Went to reception and the bar manager greeted us and told us that there wasn’t any other rooms available and unfortunately the music could not be turned down because of the bar but it will be turned off at 11:00. When returning to our room we checked on the kings arm’s website and there were other rooms available so the manager had clearly lied to us. We understand that to move us would have been an inconvenience, however the lack of sleep we had that evening really did spoil our stay and we have the hotel the chance to stop this being an issue. The music from the bar area continued until midnight which made it very difficult for us to sleep considering the loudness.Unfortunately for us our anniversary stay fell well below our expectations and hence forth we will not be returning for any further anniversaries much to our sadness. The kings arms was a wonderful place to spend our wedding day and we have such fondness for the hotel, but sadly this was not the feeling we had when we left the establishment after our stay. We will instead be going to the Christchurch harbour hotel where we know we are guaranteed the service we would expect.

My wife and I got married at The Kings back in April (2023) and just had the most perfect weekend. It's a gorgeous, chic hotel in such a wonderful little spot by the river overlooking the green, and all of our guests loved their rooms. The food and drinks (although a bit pricey) were top notch, but best of all was the staff who were just so effortlessly lovely at every stage, right from when we first viewed it a good 18 months before the big day. Consistency is so important! It's a very nice hotel, but never feels too posh or snooty. All of the staff were naturally kind and chatty and so brilliant at figuring out what you wanted before you even asked. It was a very relaxing environment to be in, which is exactly what we needed.I wish I could remember everyone's names (post-wedding brain is very real) but special thanks to our wedding co-ordinator Kayleigh who really rose to the challenge and was just fab. Cannot recommend The Kings enough.

I've a long history with this building, from working and living there, to entertaining there, or being a guest. Every time is a great time, fantastic hotel and staff, great surroundings, and beautiful scenery ?Nearby activities: Christchurch Town centre and the Priory are but a stones throw from the hotel, and a 5 minute walk along the river opposite will bring you out to Christchurch Quay and where the Avon & Stour rivers pour into the Christchurch harbour, a large natural harbour where you can catch a water ferry to Mudeford and the open sea and English Channel.

Very nice hotel, with a decent bar and restaurant.Stayed for a single night tad pricey but would return purely because it's right in the town centre. Had a couple of drinks in the bar which has a nice set up and breakfast in the morning, which was very nice. The room itself was a decent size and had a lovely feel, only thing that need attention is the shower heads as could do with a clean. And a personal preference of having former pillows... Head disappeared. Will hopefully be back at some point.
