But sad about this review, we have been coming here for years but there has been a noticeable decline in the food- portion sizes are very small now and quite overpriced for the portion size. I had a risotto which was tiny (about 5 tbsp of rice) which wasn’t well cooked. Such a shame as the fish served with it was lovely! But did think it was very expensive for what was served- even added some salad would have improved it and made it a little more filling. (Why have prices rose...read full review

Nice place, very pleasant people. Let down by poor portion size - a 3" dia 3/4" deep portion of meat topped off with piped mash is not a shepherds pie. The accompanying veg need not have been served in a separate bowl given there was so much room left on the plate the 'pie' was on! Service could have been a bit quicker. According to a friend who lives locally it has changed since he was last there - unfortunately not for the better.

Great pub, excellent food at a reasonable price and very tasty beer!! Our Labrador was warmly welcomed and we were offered a table where he wouldn’t bother others too much! We’ll be back again as soon as we visit the area in future.
