Nice little tea room, lots of choice on the menu. The owner is so lovely, she couldn’t do enough for us while we were there, we were passing through and needed a rest. We didn’t stay overnight, so I can’t comment on what the rooms are like.I would definitely recommend this placeWalkability: It’s in the town centre so shops are all near by

What a lovely spot for a tea room ?Warm and inviting, with super-friendly staff ?Dropped in for a chinwag with relatives (a meeting point for Bridport/IOW/Leicester!), we had a lovely couple of hours relaxing here.Afternoon teas looked great, but we hadn't pre-booked - cakes were delicious though....lovely Dorset apple cake ?A fabulous old building with plenty of visible history.Hope to return one day: many thanks!

As lovely and cosy as this tea room was, the service and food were disappointing. The coffee wasn't nice and was spilt on the saucer. The herbal tea tasted stale. The sandwiches took a long time to get to us and were

Small place with mediocre service. Dogs allowed, but very small tea rooms. Service is not good. Chubby lad behind the bar was not at all interested. Threw the coffee down on the table, the other coffee arrived five minutes later.Won't go there again.
If you haven't visited here yet then please consider it. Its not only an olde worlde tearoom, you can enjoy cream teas, lunches, Sunday dinners and even stay in one of the two rooms. We stayed in the suite a few years ago and have recently been back to stay again. It is very special, very comfy, plenty of room, and you may even be lucky enough to hear the spirits trying to tell you they're with you. All positive there is no negativity at all. It's a wonderful experience! Breakfast comes with your stay and tastes amazing! Say Hello to Debbie (or Derek) too, she/he has some stories to tell you.

After seeing The Old Tea House on the TV, we thought we'd go for High Tea with 2 very good friends. It was a fabulous experience and Debbie is even better in person. It is a family run business with Debbie's son doing the cooking and her Grandson helping as a waiter.

A warm welcome and delicious food. Debbie our host made sure everything was perfect. This is a family run restaurant and B&B and everyone goes that extra mile. Many locals make several visits a week. That is always a good sign. Bone china crockery added a touch of class. The cream tea was the best I have ever eaten. There is a choice of homemade scones and they are huge. The building contains numerous furnishings and tapestries that complimented the building which is over 500 years old. Well worth a visit and definitely a place we will visit again

I am local and visited the old tea house many years ago when it was like an old fashioned tea house with a great selection of cakes nick nacks you could buy.The table cloths were dirty with tea stains .because the tea pots didn’t pour properly. The staff were helpful the breakfast was ok but we shall not be returning its a shame as it use to have such old fashion character .
