Good food, good service, good atmosphere. What’s not to like.A large group of us went for a pre Christmas meal. Well worth every penny. Thoroughly recommend. You won’t be disappointed.

Overall the food was nice, although we hoped for a carvery. When the roasts were brought out, the chicken breast was amazing however the lamb was quite fatty. We were more impressed with the desserts which were really lovely!Unfortunately the person serving us (a man slightly older than the rest - perhaps the manager) was not very welcoming when we arrived, and was quite offish when we asked to change something on our meal due to a dietary requirement. Later on, he was very sarcastic and rude to my nan which was completely unnecessary. This tainted our experience of which I had high hopes as this was my first visit but I'm afraid may now be our last :(
Return visit after many years of absence. Friendly welcome, huge menu! Settled on fishcake small portion and Asian salad. ( I wouldn't recommend that particular dish). Lovely dessert. Will return.

Visited the hostelry on Saturday, The Beer was excellent, the architecture was interesting, the staff were dismal, uninterested and almost surly, possibly because the management were absent. There are plenty of other pubs selling the same quality beer, I will be using those in the future.
