Well this is truly a GRAND hotel. It has been updated to a very high standard. Stunning tropical rain shower, wonderful crisp linen & great tea & coffee tray. We had an evening meal in the veranda restaurant the quality of food & service were 1st class. Breakfast was in a very modern & bright dining room, again 1st class food & attentive staff. Did not use the Spa, pool or exercise equipment, the area was very clean. Our only problem was at Breakfast on both days was that the kitchen could not supply a soft poached egg, they offered on both days to try again but the had a delicious fry up instead. If you want too stay somewhere GRAND you won't do better for your money than here.We stayed in room 203

Perfect location, wonderful views. A very welcoming and helpful staff. Spotlessly clean rooms. Super food at both dinner and breakfast. TIP: Book direct with the hotel as it is cheaper.Rooms: Very modern and new bathroom in our twin room. Spotlessly clean throughout and very comfortable.

The perfect venue for a seaside wedding. Nestled on a clifftop on the Purbeck coastline this is the perfect place to enjoy an English seaside wedding. The team are super helpful too. The beach is just a 5 min walk down some stairs, perfect for those portraits.

We just had our wedding at the Grand Hotel last weekend. It was perfect from start to finish. There was no problem too small for Lindsay, the general manager, to solve both on the day and in the planning. Christine made sure our whole day went to plan and was on hand all day. Brad and the house staff were incredibly helpful and so welcoming to all our guests during the whole weekend. If you are getting married in Swanage don't get married anywhere else.

We spent two nights in Swanage en route to Cornwall (from Sussex) and had a spacious top floor room with a seaview. Slept with the windows wide open to listen to the waves. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout - at the bar and at breakfast. The front desk was attended throughout the day till quite late. There is only limited parking at the front of the hotel but we were able to find a space further up the street on both days. The big lawn at the front of the hotel adds to the sense of luxury. Steps lead down to the prom and it's a short 5-10 minute walk into town. We did not make use of the gym facilities so cannot comment.

What a smashing place. Wonderful gardens and view of the bay.Spent an idyllic couple of hours here with the family for a sunny afternoon cheeky drink, which was delicious and good value. The hotel interior was beautiful, they offered high tea in the orangery with bubbles, overlooking the fantastic views of the ocean. Its a must of a visit if you are in Swanage.

No facilities for disabled people. No parking space. I had to park far and walk and I am certified disable. I even called teo days before about that, they ignored my plea. See more:This hotel should be classified as two stars. To start with the bed had No headboard! Our heads were cold from the wall! The room was a loft converted with bad planning. They out the bed between the incline joists, I had to bend to bed to bed otherwise we hit our head in the ceiling which we eventually did.The room hasn't been heated all winter. I went in summer, but the walls are freezing cold, it took two days with an electric heater for the room temperature to normalise. By then we we were to head back home.Funny and sad,l; the TV was, 15 inch, my pc monitor is bigger. We couldn't see the bloody thing when in bed and since it's over the dressing table you can only watch it when in bed, 4 meters away, tough no TV to watch. The restaurant food was cooked by what I think a very good chef! That was the only good thing I guess.First evening after 3.5 hours drive and night arrival they couldn't book us a table to eat.. because the head man didn't like the looks of the two foreigners arriving. That's how his facial expressions was.We went out for a bite, came back , the restaurant was half empty at 8pm! We could have had a table. The head barman mark needs to learn to smile and serve. Yet he smiled for white people not for us. I observed him and when an Asian guy approached the bar he stopped smiling again. The advert talks about safety deposit box, forget it, none. The garden is awesome, the beach below is brilliant but that's not part of the hotel, right?. The gym is actually as big or more than free ford gym with a jacuzzi and swimming small pool for under 10..Naomi the receptionist, when leaving she took my credit card and started documenting it's details on some museum like software! I objected and paid cash! Leaving such info in such a derelict system with your details is a no no! The weird thing is I paid the bar and restaurant by card machine. Something fishy there. She said they don't have the facilities, big lie.She wasn't happy.. when leaving she didn't bother to thank me for my custom! Is it the race card being played? Or simple ignorance and unprofessionalism? Don't know really.Lastly, you get 1 roomkey even for couples. Every time you get out of the hotel you are asked to leave your key at the reception. When you come back you ask for the room number and key, they don't know you cos the person changed yet they give you the key!!!!! Dam unsafe!Would I visit again? No, I will try elsewhere.

We visited the hotel in July and revisited in September as our experience was so positive On both occasions, we had sea view rooms on the second floor which are tastefully decorated, comfortable and the views are wonderful. The hotel has refined elegance and everything is clean and well cared for. The staff are friendly and professional, special thanks to Sam Andrew Ellen and Naomi We so enjoyed the delicious food many thanks to head chef Marek We are planning to visit again soon.

I asked for an upgrade to a sea view because of my limited budget as a teacher, and they kindly gave me a room with a view at no extra cost. What a kind gesture from the manager. Such a beautiful hotel and decor with a great sauna, jacuzzi, gym and pool. Total awesome room.Nearby activities: Old Harry RockFood & drinks: Outstanding quality and variety.

Disgraceful. Advertising is totally fake. Good location but no Spa which you pay for, and the pool is a joke. Main barman doesn't understand the word custom and customers. The receptionist, one of them is very good the other is dreadful. You are asked to give them back the room's key every time you step outside the premises lol. What a joke! Of a hotel. And expensive too!

Friendly, welcoming Hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Worth paying for a room with sea view as this is stunning. This hotel has a small gym and indoor swimming pool. The grounds present the guest with a lush grass terrace with seating area and sun lounges.Parking limited and direct access down to the beach is via some steep steps.

The room was amazing with spectacular views over the pier. We were also pleasantly surprised to have a balcony. We had dinner at the hotel and couldn't rate the staff or the food high enough. Thank you to Owen, Ellen and Andy for making our trip to the magical Swanage, even better with your services. Shall definitely return in the future. Many thanks Mr and Mrs Lucas

I stayed here for a short break. The room was lovely, food was excellent and the bartender during the daytime was really friendly. The receptionist was friendly too as were all the other staff. Hotel has an indoor swimming pool, sauna, hot tub and gym. The hotel is right next to the beach too. You just need to go down some steps to get to the beach. I will definitely be staying here again.
