7A Station Rd, SwanageA great spot in Swanage with really good local produce and a relaxed atmosphere. The Salt Pig always does a fantastic job showcasing Dorset food and this location is no exception. The building itself also has plenty of character and fits nicely within the surrounding streets. As an architect based in Weymouth I always enjoy places where the setting and the space add to the overall experience. Definitely worth a visit when in Swanage.

5 Institute Rd, SwanageWe (grandad, mum, two children, both autistic) arrived at the busiest time but were lucky enough to get a table. Plenty of room at the table for everyone. A very experienced waitress. Good choices of food (when we eventually decided) and freshly cooked. I wanted a Brown Derby to finish but it wasn't to be. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Would very happily go again. Such a nice, relaxed family environment. I've also eaten there alone and it was just as good.

Durlston Country Park, Lighthouse Road, SwanageGood coffee and tea serve ( in a pot with a decent amountvof nilk to accompany). Didn't eat here but menu looked good. GF options available. Building accessible and some interesting bits to explore. Easily the best views from Swanage area. Friendly service. Will revisit.

14/16 Station Rd, SwanageSwanage is a really good greggs. The 2 guys working there on Friday Pm shift were amazing they did my pizza for us and sorted a greggs bag for us too they were very polite and helpful and great with customers better than the Bournemouth or Poole branch. All my trips to swanage is popping into the greggs too.

343 High St, SwanageWe got a take away from here whilst on holiday. Had a look at reviews online but I guess you are still never sure. However we were highly delighted with our food. It was great, without any surprises, super tasty, hot, ready on time and at a reasonable price. It would certainly be somewhere we would go again. Highly recommended

15 High St, SwanageReally tasty good value Chinese food. We had all the classics (Sweet and Sour, crispy chilli beef, Singapore noodles….) and they were all delicious. Love that free prawn crackers are included
Was a bit chaotic trying to order (they didn’t pick up the phone, app doesn’t work) but got there in the end and was worth it

1A High St, SwanageMy husband and I tried many pubs during our stay in Swanage and this was the most pleasant and efficient. They did not serve food as far as I could tell. They had a nice outdoor seating area out front. There is a well covered in glass in the bar. The toilets were clean.

Definitely the 'best burgers in town' and will most definitely be visiting again when I'm in Swanage next.

Gee Whites Seafood Restaurant
1 High St, SwanageLovely place on the harbour. Seating outdoors and under cover. Very casual atmosphere. Toilets over the road, you have to mind your heads to get in, but reasonably clean. Menu would be nice with a little more variety but chicken burger was lovely. Nice chunky chips. Extremely tasty sachets of ketchup with plenty in each. Same size of mayo too. Battered sausage meal included 2 very large ones filling more than half the plate making it enough for 2! We took a sausage home. Good coffee. Over all very happy with the place, would return another day. £15 mains could be considered above average, depends what you're used to. Nice staff.

The Royal Oak
Royal Oak, 417 High St, SwanageWe went to the Royal Oak for a Sunday Roast and honestly it was perhaps the best roast we have ever had (no exaggeration).
The food was all freshly home cooked, the beef was as tender as could be, portion sizes were plentiful and there was an assortment of 9-10 vegetables to accompany the meat.
Service was as friendly and pleasant as you could want.
This is not just the best place to go for a roast in Swanage but Dorset and wider afield too.

1-5 Commercial Rd, SwanageA lovely welcome by the staff and a superb menu to choose from. We weren't disappointed with any of the food and the 'special John Dory with Lobster and Lobster sauce' was exceptional as was the monkfish in a curry sauce. The starters were great and the desserts lovely too. The only criticism would be the stark appearance of the restaurant, ie no tablecloths, paper napkins and the lighting leaves much to be desired to create a lovely ambience as a little like a school hall but the food absolutely can't be faulted!

I had a great chillie on tortillas main - loads of it too. Wife had fish and chips…big thumbs up. Good on allergies, and service quick and excellent. We’ll defo come again.

Studland, SwanageWe saw the sign to the cafe and diverted here after walking from Corfe Castle. Lovely friendly staff and delicious food. I can recommend the halloomi and salad roll and raspberry croissants. They also had oat milk for my coffee. A real gem.

Ulwell, SwanageAmazingly staff. They are so friendly and helpful. Nothings too much trouble.
The meals are really fresh and tasty. Great variety and perfect size. The specials board is great too. We have been with our family there a few times now and have always managed to get a table. Plenty of room between tables and feels very welcoming.
Would highly recommend.

The Globe, 3 Bell St, SwanageLovely local pub, with new owners. Very welcoming and plenty of outside space. At the moment they don't serve food, but will provide you with cutlery, plate etc if you pop over to the Indian takeaway or fish and chip shop!

11 High St, SwanageCame across this pub by chance after heading away from the beach because it was so busy to get lunch. Absolutely perfect! There were 6 of us (4 adults and 2 children) and 4 dogs. Food was delicious and a great value for money.

Crab Apple Catering
Unit 7 Anvil Centre Prospect Way, SwanageChose Crab Apple Catering to provide food for a funeral tea recently. The food they provided was exceptional with plenty of vegan options too. It was presented in a lovely way, and many people told me how impressed they were with it. They catered for 120 people but there was more than enough food for everyone. Totally hassle free in the delivery and subsequent clearing up. Thank you

Grand Hotel
Burlington Road, SwanageWe didn't stay, so cannot comment on the rooms.
We had a wonderful New Year's Eve dinner dance at the Grand Hotel. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was jolly and the waiting staff were brilliant. Very proactive, not reactive. They were efficient at serving and noticed if you needed the water topped up.
A very good evening all round.
