Used to be a lovely pub, but staffing on the day was trouble. Staff moody and arguing with each other on the pub floor. Made it a bad

Disappointing Sunday roast mainly due to staffing problems. Food, when it arrived, was poor with rock hard potatoes, inedible stuffing and over cooked Yorkshire puddings. We were informed that potatoes were 'Aunt Bessie's'. On another day the service and food may have been different but I am not likely to return to give it another go.Edit: it is good that the pub have responded. I feel this shows a genuine concern to give customer satisfaction

Great place to have something to eat, their Sunday roast is amazing. The service is sometimes a little slow but it's never really a problem. Dog friendly and the staff are welcoming and chatty.

Lovely same price but better than a Toby. Booking best early lunch sitting as gets very busy.

Visited Sunday 17th March. Dining area was busy . We have visited several times before & nothing much has changed. Food is very basic pub grub. Wife had the pie which lacked much filling. I had roast turkey & had requested cranberry sauce but ended up with apple sauce. Veg was ok whilst Yorkshire pudding was overcooked. Roast potatoes seem to be cooked from frozen they were squishy inside & lacked the fluffiness & crispness of freshly made. We feel that the staff were totally overstretched. We had to wait a long time for our drinks & we’re going to order pudding but gave up due to the wait. Have heard that management is changing so will try them out again. If no improvements have been made we will have to look elsewhere which would be a pity as we like to try & support locally where we canWould give 2.5 stars for food & serviceKevin & Carol

Been to the Fox and Hounds a few times and always thought it was a nice place to go good food & nice atmosphere, but went last night & was quite disappointed the service was slow, no Ales, food not available from the menu, no menus, had to have a staff copy, slow service, meals really not up to the standard they were, hard warm chips, meals not like they are described as on the menu, forgotten desserts, we won’t be coming back for the foreseeable future.

We visited this pub on Wednesday around 12.30pm as a couple. It is not our first visit and we have enjoyed a good eating experience previous to this. On arrival I would estimate it was around one third full. The pub has a restaurant area and a less formal bar area.We were told we would have to wait at least forty five minutes for food and my wife was asked in an off hand manor who seated us and where we got our menu’s from. On going to the bar the lady serving made another offhand remark about us having to wait at which point we decided to leave.

Awful experience. Had a booking for 13 people to which I found out a few days earlier that I would need to bring forward by an hour. I tried 8 times to ring and tell the F&H that I would like to move the booking; nothing! No answer.Fast forward to the day, we turned up early (55 mins early) and asked if we could be accomodated and if there was anything that could be done. Rudest member of staff I have ever spoken to told me there was absolutely no chance. Fair enough I guess, large booking, makes sense. We were actually happy to wait, but were told that there was no room for us to have a drink and wait either (even outside!). At which point I asked what the point of a phone number was if there would be no answer to which I was told (and I quote!!) "what?! do people just expect that I sit around waiting for the phone to be answered"...well, yes kind of?We then left and didn't return. We went to the Willet arms who accomodated us and were generally lovely, we also spent £500...so they're the real winner

Good food , but when I asked to book a table for a couple of weeks time the women told me she was to busy and I would have to book online. We've booked else where so they lost out on 6 bookings.Really no way to run a business.

Must have been here 10 times over last couple of years - it just gets worse and worse. On at least 50% of the visits they have some excuse as to why the soup is not available. Called to book yesterday and answered by a 'booking computer'. Took the booking but when we arrived they hadn't seen the booking so the chef wasn't available. Eventually placed a food order which took over an hour to arrive. It was overpriced and the 'meat' pie was just pastry - hardly any meat in it at all.Overall, a terrible experience, won't be returning and highly recommend going anywhere but this very poorly run establishment. Staff need a lot of training on customer service, especially the 'waitress/receptionist/barmaid' who is not good at any of the jobs she tries to do.
