We have just celebrated my Mother’s 80th birthday. The food, service & atmosphere were all amazing. There were 20 of us and we had an area all to ourselves. All the food was delicious and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Thank you for making our celebration a success.

Although I grew up in Wimborne, this was my first vist to The Old Thatch. And having just experienced outstanding service from our waiter John, I have been compelled to write this review. From the moment we (10 including 3 under two's) were shown to our table, John was extremely attentive and informative and always smiling whatever was asked of him, a true credit to The Old Thatch!! The Sunday roast was lovely with just the right balance and quantity to satisfy even the hungriest in our group, a very pleasant two hours spent in a lovely environment with second to none customer service, well done, The Old Thatch! we will return!

Just had a lovely Sunday dinner at the Old Thatch with the family, we was seved by John, best service we have had at a restaurant, kept making sure everything was ok and we had all we needed. Very nice young man. Polite attentive and very patient. We will be certainly coming back again for the evening menu during the week. Would highly recommend to friends and family.

The Old Thatch - Ferndown DorsetFIVE STAR - Everything2nd visit - Sat 13th Jan 2024This award winning pub is lovely, not too over the top. As you walk in the door there is an immediate relaxing feel to the place....atmoshere great (log fire burning). We were shown to our table and served by Bradley, who gave us a warm welcome. He was knowledgeable and helpful. It was lunchtime so we opted for the Trio of Venison Sausages and an old favourite of mine Ham, Egg & Chips....neither of which were a disappointment (pictures included) ! Quite the opposite, the meals were Fab !!The team were superb, Bradley was extremely helpful and gave great service (thank you).Id also add that due to the expert service and quality of food we reveived last time out from REI, we returned.Bradley was sure to advise that service was added to the bill before we paid (he asked if we were happy and if we were happy to leave it on the bill) a very nice touch and I was happy to pay it !!Well done and thanks.Julian & Amanda

We met some friends that we hadn’t seen for some time for a meal on Wednesday evening. Our waitress, Georgia, with the lovely hair… was really nice, and very helpful all evening. The food was really tasty, we will definitely visit again.

Excellent service and food. Staff lovely. The only thing negative I would say is that it was very smoky from the open fire, we came away stinking of smoke. They just need to clear their

Georgia and the team looked after our party of 24 really well. The food was delicious and we had a separate area of the restaurant which was ideal for the families with young kids.

We were fortunate to book a table at The Old Thatch for new year's eve. We had come down from Norfolk for the occasion. I can not fault anything. The service of the staff was nothing but brilliant despite it being an extremely busy night for them. The chef and crew in the kitchen simply nailed it with military precision. All the starters, mains and desserts appeared like clockwork and all piping hot. The kitchen crew are to be commended on their incredibly hard work behind the scenes which is never rarely recognised. The starter of belly pork was sublime and the main course of perfectly served medium rare fillet steak was nothing but outstanding. The best fillet steak I have every had (and I don't say that lightly...!) The desserts were to die for as was the cheese board. I can not thank the bar staff, waitresses and kitchen chefs enough for ensuring we had a magical evening in your wonderful establishment. A perfect example of how well polished team work and communication works to the benefit of the paying customer. A huge thanks to everyone involved for making it a most rememberable new year's eve. We'll definitely be back....?

We had a superb meal, served by lovely friendly staff. The food was excellent, restaurant quality food. The staff were polite and very efficient, the food was served in a timely manner. At our request we delayed the dessert which did not disappoint. Lovely experience which we hope to repeat again soon.

I don’t usually leave poor reviews, but the service at the hatch at the thatch was appalling. I was warned as the family in front of us had to prompt them to decorate their ‘loaded’ hot chocolates. Our order was wrong and had to be corrected three times, our drinks weren’t loaded either and were cold. To add insult to injury they tried to charge me £24 for an order that should be £16.50. When we addressed this catalogue of errors we were told that we could leave. Beware.
