Arrived mid-afternoon and the friendly lass working in the bar booked me in... it was clearly a friendly place and this was confirmed later when I met the proprietor. I had a great meal and two good breakfasts here and no complaints at all. If you're looking for 'swish'... this isn't the place to be, it's got character and is all the better for it. Stayed overnight with two teenagers to attend my sons graduation in Durham. Kids loved the brief stay due to the friendliness of the staff and the lovely breakfast.Would definately stay again. Highly recommend it and my kids are seasoned, critical travellers. Great value for money.👠👠ðŸ˜

The rooms are very clean and comfortable, the decor is to a very high standard had the best nights sleep .excellent very friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely stay here again.
