Well worth a visit here, if you are local or someone visiting the area. Pleasant friendly staff, with great service. A good choice of food on the menu, and always a popular tea room. Also being dog friendly there is a separate seating area inside where you can take them with you. Doggie Sausages are available for your pooch. Pawtastic.

Quite simply the best hand made pizza you will find outside of Italy. The service and value for money are second to none and the inventiveness of the owners with their new flavour combinations for both food and drinks is inspired.The personal favourite is the garlic bread with cheese, N’duja and honey, it is an inspired combination and never fails to deliver.

Manzo Bishop Auckland

Beautiful meal. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.Starters were lovely (belly pork particularly good). For main we had ribeyes. They both had a great sear and were cooked to perfection.The only negative was the wait for our starters. Waited around 40 minutes after ordering. That said we'll definitely be back

March Hare

Had Sunday Dinner at the March Hare yesterday. The food was lovely and the service was brilliant. Louise our waitress was excellent and we will definitely be going back for another meal there soon.

The 68 Cafe

Although it was Mothers Day and we hadn't booked anywhere for lunch , we managed to get a table at The 68 Cafe . 3 adults , we all had roast beef Sunday lunches . 1 piece of caramel cake ( it was quite a large piece ) and 1 Apple and blackberry crumble with custard . 1 decaf tea , 1americano (large ) and a flat white ( large ) , also a fentimans soda .Total about £52 Well worth it and the atmosphere was buzzing . One of the best Chinese takeaways around, stumbled across this last year when our regular was closed and we haven’t looked back since, food is always high quality, portions are extremely generous for the price and we’ve never had a bad experience with Bishop Oriental. The Merry Monk

Can't beat the merry monk on a Saturday night. Its where everyone comes together at the end of night and is the only place open late. Staff are always friendly. Only downside is its very narrow and you feel squashed but it has a big garden, that also has a bar so you can get sorted from outside, which makes up for it. Canny music, alright prices, what more could you want. Does cost £1 to get in which is honestly fair as its the place to be.

Bishops Lodge

Called in for an early evening meal on Saturday, it was very pleasant but quite quiet. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was lovely but no real ales on offer, the Guinness was nice

Beautifully presented, freshly cooked, tasty tapas.We went for a family meal for a birthday and had a great lunch. We tried everything on the menu and all of it was presented, cooked and tasted great. Would highly recommend the Chorizo y Fig a la Sidra, as well as the Valencian Carrots and the bread board which had a tasty selection of breads and gorgeous cultured buttter

Tried Hot Rooster for the first time tonight.Wow is an understatement, reasonably sized portions for a great price.The wife had lemon herb chicken breast with chips and salad, I had hot piri piri half chicken with chips and coleslawChicken was moist, full of flavour and the hot piri piri packed a good heat punch.Definitely recommended for take out.

Ordered a takeaway from here, as my friend had recommended Panda Panda to me a while ago. Chow mein was delicious, had a bite of husband's lemon chicken which was gorgeous, dumplings and dessert were amazing too! Will be ordering again and we're hoping to book at the restaurant as well ? thank you!

The most friendly takeaway with the most delicious food. Whenever we ring up we speak to the friendliest gentleman who is always polite, happy and jolly even when super busy. Always quick delivery and again delivery with a friendly smile :) the best Chinese takeaway around!!

Ordered on Just Eat not realising this indian is in Bishop Auckland and I live near Crook. Felt a bit guilty thinking delivery driver would have to drive so far. Food was estimated to take an hour but only took 30 mins. Food was red hot. I burnt my fingers which is a good thing. Delivery driver was nice to my Dad who answered the door. Good service. Use this chippy every couple of weeks when I'm in the area chip butty with kebab meat is a must came today got the 18"wrap what can I say lovely as usual amount of meat chicken and chips in the wrap was unreal well worth the money 2 of us shared it and struggled to finish it bargain for the money keep up the good work guys ?can't recommend this place enough cheers

Ordered a Special Offer Meal Deal last night, #4 - 10" Garlic Bread, Parmo chips and salad, Donner Meat, 2 drinks and a dip for £12. Garlic Bread OK, Parmo not really my thing but had to try a local dish and there was nowt wrong with it, Donner meat good. I have given this review 4 stars however as the staff were extremely friendly, the service was good and the value for money is great.

Called in here after riding Coldberry End ( the highest through road in the UK) with a fellow biker. Had a Latte and a Cheese Scone. Well priced. Was a little quiet though due to the time of year (November).

The Saxon Inn

Very clean & nice rooms with everything you could want. Comfortable beds both times we stayed (different rooms). Excellent shower!! Our room was quite cool when we went up but didn't take long to warm up when I altered the thermostat. We did not eat there the last time we stayed but did this time & wow are we glad we did, my daughter and son inlaw came over with my grandkids (visiting them is why we were in the area) and all six of the meals were top notch, the service was good and all of the staff were very friendly. I can't praise this place enough. Thank you for another great stay.

Highly recommend. Ate here yesterday and the food was delicious and service great. I’m from the US and a regular smoker of meats. I can vouch for the authenticity. Also, and a very welcome surprise, they roast their own coffee. Made for an amazing espresso that helped me out of the food coma I put myself in. I haven’t found better BBQ in the North East. Well done to you all!

Lucky 8 Chinese Take Away

Good takeaway, prepared well and tasty, dropped a star due to feeling a little out of pocket on the duck, pancakes were all stuck together and for an extra tenner I felt we didn't receive much duck for the money. So no duck in the future but hasn't spoiled what is a decent take away.

The burgers are not as big as they use to be and the size of diner have gotten smaller. i am still hungry after eating. Since prices have gone up. But all in all stil reasonable to eat there. They need to make a bigger choice on menu. A dog friendly seating would be grate even if it is only 2 tables at a time.
