Been a few times now. Food and drink quality are great. Staff are friendly and attentive. They take allergies seriously, asking us unprompted and ensuring allergens are kept entirely separate (one of our group had a mild peanut allergy)

If you haven't been, I'd make serious consideration to trying the next time you're in Bishop!

Knead A Slice

Really great food, couldn't fault it. Very welcoming service. Vegan option available. Lots of seats upstairs too, can cater for quite big groups. Big and cheap car park over the road. Choice of bar service or easy to use QR code on the tables.

The 68 Cafe

The food here is beautiful and filling you get such big portions i couldn't eat it all i had to take some away with me staff are so helpful and friendly i was staying in the pods thats behind it and I need ketchup and mayo the staff gave me some to take away with me

Really enjoyable family meal on a Tuesday evening. Something from the menu for everyone all well cooked. Service was first class from Glenn. Will return on next visit back to the north east!

March Hare

Went for Christmas Lunch what can I say it was amazing Food Hot served with a smile table service all throughout no rush can't fault anything. The staff were all looking smart, working non stop al the time nothing too much trouble. Nice greet on arrival got showing to our table and sat there throughout one of the best Christmas Lunch. thank you to you all see you again soon.

Tindale Crossing Brewers Fayre

The restaurant was very clean and had a festive atmosphere.
The service was great and the food quality was faultless.
We had a great afternoon.

Kurlisees Food Bar

I was going to get a sandwich from Sainsbury's next door until I see Kurlisees food bar in Coundon for lunch.
I got fish bites and chips for £6.50 which is reasonable price. I actually shared with my partner as i couldn't eat all.
The lady in the shop had spot on for customer service.
There is a small parking area for the few shops.
Wheelchair accessible.

Bishops Lodge

Staff so pleasant and helpful despite a very busy service (everyone going to Kynren) and an obnoxious customer demanding to be served first ?. Wait for food was not too long (given how busy it was), and portions were hot and plentiful. Would definitely come back again.

Joey's Waffle House

Joey’s kindly let me reserve tables on Saturday for a group of 13 as my daughter wanted to go there with some friends for her birthday. Food was excellent and service was excellent. Staff were really helpful and the kids had a great time!

Always excellent service at The Hut on Proudfoot Drive; prompt, friendly, and efficient every time.

The breakfast is proper British fare and really well done. The breakfast baps are a highlight and can be customised to the nth degree, which makes it easy to get exactly what you want.

A reliable go-to spot for a great breakfast with consistently good service!

El Castillo

Look no further and make sure to book! Brilliant, friendly and atmospheric. Fabulous food and staff made us feel so welcome despite there being no tables available (we ate at the counter). We enjoyed every thing we ordered - great to hear about the origin of the ingredients too. So impressed with the whole Auckland project

I stop at Greggs every morning and all the staff are fantastic,, really makes the start of your day a pleasure,, thank you all staff at Towlaw.. your a great team ✌️

Street Pasta

Made an order tonight for the first time and I’m ashamed we have only just discovered this place. THE most UNREAL burger I’ve ever had. Didn’t want it to end. It’s got to be the best takeaway in the area, incredible!!

The Red Alligator

Just been for a meal here tonight, was made to feel very welcome with my partner, lovely food, excellent service, friendly staff and kept asking if everything OK………. Couldn’t do enough to make our evening more enjoyable.

Costa Coffee

IMHO slightly better than other big chains like Starbucks. Often not as good as local independents but always consistent in range and quality and with branches in most big towns and cities.

Best Chinese food we've had in years.... Service was great and girls serving were really Friendly... It was a pleasure to meet young Geordie too.... Lovely family business.... when we're back in the area we will 100% be back.... thanks

The Hot Rooster

Everything was absolutely fantastic and arrived 15 minutes early ,,if you want a fabulous tasting meal probably the best in Bishop ,with a coleslaw to die for it really is beautiful. Everything was lovely and hot. Perfect. Keep up the good work. This is from ,Reverend Hudson.

Sadly the day I ordered this she had to have urgent surgery at Darlington Hospital ( life and death )
Thankfully she pulled through and is looking forward to actually trying the updated one when she gets home after a few weeks of respite

Always use this takeaway when we come home after we moved away 5 years ago always great food and yet again after ordering tonight they absolutely smashed it from customer service to the delivery driver who was very friendly and the food itself which is always 10/10

this was the BEST chinese i’ve had in a long time. everything i ordered was so delicious and it arrived in only 17 minutes. it was all very hot when i received it and made fresh to order. overall super happy

Ordered again last night and it's great value for money and the food is delicious. The order was delivered on time and hot. The driver was very friendly and helpful. We will certainly be trying them again ?? ?

Pizza Napoli

By far the best pizzas in the area. Have never had a bad food or experiences (takeaway/delivery).

Popped in for our takeout this eve and even given a complimentary drink as I didn’t have cash on me and decided not to use my card again. I didn’t even know it had been put into the package until I discovered it when we got home as I thought it was just sauce pots.

Such a lovely thing to do and shows such good customer care as they didn’t have to do that at all, the small things really do matter. Thank you, whoever did that and sorry for not thanking you at the time (as I hadn’t realised).

I really don’t understand why this takeaway doesn’t have a higher score review wise!

Last few times had kebab and was lush tonight we ordered pizza and the food was amazing light fluffy and not at all greasy thank you so much and the delivery driver lovely

Been to this shop few times and was amazed to see every time i noticed they wash their grills and all kitchen equipments including kebab machines hygiene is 10/10 as someone who tried food in all of bishop i give this guys a big up , friendly staff and no longer waiting times , value for money ! I’ve had a couple of takeaways from Berto’s in Bishop Auckland, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised each time. The kebab meat was full of flavour and really tasty, and the chicken was beautifully cooked tender and succulent. Everything we ordered was spot on, and we had no issues at all.
Amazing food, great quality, and definitely worth a shot if you’re in the area. Thank you!

Just love the food sent wrong order once but when phoned them they were at my home within 15 minutes with the right order and was lovely. Keep the standard open .

Use this chippy every couple of weeks when I'm in the area chip butty with kebab meat is a must came today got the 18"wrap what can I say lovely as usual amount of meat chicken and chips in the wrap was unreal well worth the money 2 of us shared it and struggled to finish it bargain for the money keep up the good work guys ?can't recommend this place enough cheers

Just had a mixed kebab from Royal Grill. WOW best kebab I have had in years. It came 30 mins early ( ordered on Uber Eats) The food was cooked to perfection, was literally piping hot, it was absolutely gorgeous. Definitely going to be my go to place for kebabs etc. From now on. Top job guys, if I could rate you higher than 5* I would ??

Cross Keys Country Pub

Nice village pub. Good atmosphere and very pleasant staff. Great service and plenty of choice for drinks. Beer selection was good with two cask options. Food menu looks good - didn't eat so can't comment.

Moss Inn

Really friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent food.
Sunday lunch and the Fish and chips are highly recommended!
Nice relaxed atmosphere, will definitely go back again.

The Golden Lion

Came here for food (after the kitchen was closed) and when I asked if they were still serving, they kept the kitchen open for the three of us out of the goodness of their hearts.
Fantastic service and warm and welcoming it was like I’d known them for years how they spoken to me.
Very busy day for the 2 people working they said and they still made room and time for us to have some drinks and food.
Lovely little local pub, the food was made with love and tasted great (lasagne, steak burger and carbonara bake) ?? everything was cooked to perfection.
Would highly recommend and will be going back 100%

We visited the restaurant last night and I have to say there was a young man working called James I really want to commend him on his overall presence and attitude. He was so well mannered and I felt it was so lovely to see a young man handle himself in the manner he was displaying. What a lovely young man he was. Food was delicious also highly recommended

Chang Thai

We wanted to re experience out thailand trip. The food didn't disappoint, in fact it surpassed. We were welcomed at the door and pampered throughout the night, which made the visit enjoyable. For starters we had crackers with a warmed soy sauce and garlic dip. We also had a mixed starter, it was a taste of things to come . We had red curry green curry and sweet and sour beef and sweet and sour chicken. I tasted them all and they were delicious. The red curry was creamy with crisp fresh peppers and courgette.. amazing. The service was well timed, attentive for drinks and we met the chef who was an exceptional cook. Our new place to visit ..thankyou so much...think they do takeaway...bonus..

Staying local first time tonight phoned in order collected was piping hot superb Singapore chowmain and special curry fresh chips absaloutely banging ? cheap prices compared to Scotland but spot on quality food

The Smokehouse

First experience at a smoke house and even though I got full around the halfway point the food was awesome and I ate every bit

The place had a jive and the music and atmosphere was superb defo on a list of must go again

Service was spot on, food was great, don’t go to a smoke house and not expect to smell smoke (authentic good stuff)

Absolutely beautiful place relaxing atmosphere good bands on. Drinks are spot on as is the food great staff and service. Highly recommended. Also dog friendly which is a bonus.

First time tried this shop, but can be sure it won’t be the last , enjoyed every bite thought might have to lick me plate lol ,perfect we only over on Linburn beck park so relatively

The Mitre

Love this place I've performed here many times the staff are amazing the pub goes up and beyond for the regulars. Live entertainment during the week and on weekends its a great venue.

Pizza Figaro

We've used this pizza shop for over 20 years and don't live in BA....but wouldn't go anywhere locally because their pizzas are 2nd to none. I've read reviews where someone had a bad pizza and wouldn't return and I SMH. We've had 1 average pizza in 20+ years and that's not anywhere near enough for me to criticise the place. The lads are great, not fly by nights and knock out great food for the hungry. We're lucky to have Figaro and luckier they deliver.

Our first visit here passed it many times but today we tried it and weren’t disappointed, didn’t have any food just a drink at a very good price and it was a nice pint , we will be back x

Expressos

Lovely place to grab something to eat/drink whilst waiting for a train. Coffees are done impeccably well, and food is of course tasty too. Prices are good and I love the old school feel the place has.
