Fabulous real ale pub which oozes character. Street food on a Thursday. Live music at weekends.

Great welcoming pub.

Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere in this well stocked real ale pub. Attached to the Consett Real Ale Works Micro-Brewery, you have a great choice of some excellent ales to suit all tastes.....and at fantastic low prices.Thursday nights offer 'street food' with a different vendor (pizza, Greek, Thai, Indian, etc.) taking turns to park right outside the doors. Buy from them what you want and eat it in the pub....or at the tables outside if sunny weather.A real oasis of a dog-friendly pub and well worth a visit!

Really nice friendly local pub ?

Great little real ale boozer with very friendly and fun staff and a super selection of their own brewed ales and good guest ales. I'm marking food mid simply because it's a small selection of toasties, and whilst they're fine, it's not a good selection overall.

Great place wished we had a lot more time to spend enjoying the ales available to us. But I will be back.

Fantastic olde world real ale pub, superb selection of in-house real ales, plus guests & evil craft beers. Thursday evening there is rotating street food.

Great traditional little boozer - Sandra & the team work hard to make all feel welcome. Great selection of real ales, gins & nice quality wine.

Really nice little bar, good selection of drinks and dog friendly; banging food truck outside too

Loved this pub. The locals were friendly and accommodating. The beer, brewed out the back, was fantastic. We really liked all the nik-naks and historical items that decorate the walls. It's dog friendly, so if you're not, you might not like it. As far as I saw, there is no food except crisps and nuts so my five stars is for beer.
