We decided to treat my mother and cousin to The Christmas Day meal that was available this year. From the initial phone call to book the table to the day itself things ran very smoothly, additional help being able to pay for the whole thing in instalments after the initial deposit was paid. The day itself was beyond my expectations. Friendly reception after walking through the door into a very nice open layout. Quickly sat at our tables and then the day started. Starters arrived promptly after the drink order was taken. The queue for the carvery part of the meal progressed at a decent speed given how busy the Christmas Meal bookings were. The food was cooked well, the serving staff were readily talkative which helped my mother (chatterbox I swear). Left with smiles on our faces and no space in our belly's for even the smallest snack. Highly recommend!Vegetarian options: For a carvery it's always nice to see a nice choice of food for vegetarians, in this case the melon starter, wellington main and cheesecake dessert were all happily received by my wife.

Called in yesterday, on way back from hospital, very welcomed, lovely pint of john smiths, and wine. We had the beef stew and dumpling, and beef dinner. Was on par with The Mill at houghton le spring. Where we normally eat....Hot and Tasty. Meal and drinks came to just over £30.Overall excellent. Nice staff..Tom and Elizabeth Wears.

Love coming here, especially for carvery. I do refuse to go anywhere but here for a good roast. Took my friend because we both needed a bit of comfort food. Only very slight winge would be the music was very clubland-ish for Monday tea time and was a bit much that spoilt the atmosphere/aesthetics a bit. The staff however were all very friendly, kind and super speedy without feeling rushed. The girls working are a credit to this place.

A very busy carvery lunchtime service oh Sunday. Not bookable for less than five guests., is the only drawback at this venue. Prices vary for number of meat selections 1-4, child or large adult size. Huge assortment of vegetables accomplished, Yorkshire Puddings, Gravy and Delicious Sauces. Car Parking area gets filled quickly, put Parking on verge is common.

We recently had my grans 90th birthday meal here. Food was brilliant as always and they couldn't do enough for us,they even helped us surprise her with a cake. Lovely carvery and a good menu too. Reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

Whenever I visit my Dad's in Leadgate, I have to visit. It's my favourite place. The food is fantastic and very reasonably priced, most meals are about 12-13 quid. The Steak Pie is so good. I realised they do carverys too so I'll be trying one next time, the Yorkshires are massive!

We visit our daughter several times a year and always go to The Jolly Drovers for food as it’s their local. Food is always amazing, excellent quality and very large portions! The staff are so friendly and professional and Karen, who was manager on duty that night was so kind and accommodating. I’ve never had pub food so delicious. Highly recommend! Last minute stop off at the Jolly Drovers last night and it did not disappoint! Food was spot on (ordered beef stew, partner ordered a burger), service was excellent and atmosphere was nice!They had the carvery on too, which looked delicious!
