Went for Sunday lunch to celebrate a family birthday. As we were a table of 8 we had to preorder our food choices. The service is very very slow, it took a long time to have our drinks order taken and delivered. There is absolutely no rush to deliver food to everyone at the same time. Or to collect the plates when finished. The starters were bland with stale toast and bread. The roast dinners were warm, not hot. Beef was tender but over cooked, same for Salmon. Roast potatoes were very crispy and dry inside, again over cooked. The single parsnip was soggy. You are given two types of carrots, roasted and well boiled, no green vegetables to be seen. Yorkshire puddings are dry. There isn’t enough gravy on the plate we had to ask for more. I’m not sure what the chefs did to the cauliflower cheese but it is not cheesy just bland. Those who had desserts had big portions served with something similar in taste and colour to Birds custard. One portion was missing we had to ask for it. We will not be returning, £32+ per head for a very poor roast dinner at somewhere billed to be amazing. You will get a much nicer dinner and better service at the local pub in the village.

Absolutely loved our experience here at the clubhouse . we stayed for 2 nights and came for lunch and breakfast the next day . Lunch was delicious, and a young gentleman looked after us called Thomas.He was was lovely,couldnt do anymore for us. The next day we went for breakfast and an amazing lady called Helen looked after us . The breakfast was unreal. Helen asked if we were here for a special occasion. It was for a girlie spa day and mums bday. Helen and her team went above and beyond to make our experience special I can't thank her enough . We both can't wait to come back x

I frequently meet for meetings at the Clubhouse and it's always a pleasure to be there. It's an ideal venue for catching up with clients and colleagues in a friendly, informal setting. The food is good and the staff are amazing. And a special mention to Helen, Becky and Ola who are cheery, efficient and have a pot of tea ready for me before I have time to get seated. Six star from me.

Sunday lunch is not quite the lunch we expected. Problems in the kitchen meant a change of venue which was fine. Tables laid out was a plus. The waiting staff tried, umpteen times, to remove half filled glasses Even though we hadn’t finished the drink. He came again to remove it not just twice but again and again. The lunch itself was a tad disappointment. Massive roast potatoes accompanied by enormous parsnips and equally enormous carrots. A sloppy version of creamed cabbage and that was it. They apparently grow their own veg, if that’s it, very poor. The meat and Yorkshire pudding were a good quality. The starters, were not a standard I would expect from a 5* hotel restaurant. Over priced, poor service very disappointing.

This is our third visit to the clubhouse for Sunday lunch .It was very different to the two previous visits .it was good before but this visit was excellent .Piped creamy mash ,exquisite tasting gravy and stunning presentation.Helen is always so happy and bubbly ,always smiling with the team she makes the room so happy.The staff are all very attentive

We visited the Clubhouse for breakfast and were as always greeted with friendly and professional staff who delivered a first class service. The Clubhouse breakfast was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed a very relaxing dining experience with magnificent views. We then visited the bar for a few drinks in the main building. We were served by Raju who has served us for many years now and is the most welcoming, professional and genial member of staff at Rockliffe Hall and it is always a pleasure to meet with him. The experience at Rockliffe Hall is always a magical and memorable one.

Service could not be faulted! Food was plentiful - chicken Caesar salad was very good! Prawns on sourdough were ok but lacking flavour; chilli was non existent.
