Christmas kit what can I say ! Our 3rd year running that Noel and the team made our Christmas dinner perfect. I cannot thank them enough for taking all the stress away with the Christmas kits, massive portions, instructions that even I can follow and the perfect Christmas dinner, portofinos will always be the best restaurant in the north east. Keep up the fantastic work team portos. X

Went for a Christmas meal with colleagues and was treated to an excellent feast. Starter was a very generous helping of potato skins with choice of dipping sauce, but the other starters I saw made we want to try them too. Garlic mushrooms looked amazing as did the chicken goujons.I went for traditional Christmas dinner and wasn't disappointed. It was piping hot, delicious and very filling and I would have no problem having the same again and recommending it wholly. Having said that the steak and chips my colleague had also looked amazing so I would be tempted to try that on my next visit ... And there will be a next visit as the food was excellent.Service was outstanding as the servers took our names and ensured we all got the correct meals and kept us supplied with drinks throughout.As the food was so delicious and filling none of us could face a sweet so I can't comment on those, but based on everything else I would definitely be happy to try one if I could manage to save a bit of room for it.The only downside was I got Whammageddoned during my meal ... But as I'm in a happy Christmas mood I won't knock a star off for that. ?Plenty of parking outside and not too far from the Centre of Hartlepool if you fancy a short walk. The only downside I could see (for some) would be the access via a fairly steep metal exterior staircase. This wasn't a problem for me but it may limit others ability to get inside.

We travelled from Richmond (North Yorkshire) to try this restaurant recommended by friends from Hartlepool. First impressions a gorgeous setting and beautifully decorated for Christmas with music playing and a great atmosphere. The place was VERY busy (struggled to actually get through the door), and our table wasn't ready so we did have to stand (in the way of people) for about 15 mins before we sat at our table. The service was slow but assumed that was down to the fact the restaurant was busy however, we did get left a long long time even with waiters walking past our table which had our empty starter dishes which must've been sat there about 45 mins - 1 hour. Lucky that we enjoy our friend's company and had a decent catch up during the wait! That being said, the food was amazing and definitely made up for the slow service.

Have been coming here for almost as long as it has been open.By far our favourite restaurant.Good value for money and the food is of adequate portions and delicious ! Never had a bad meal here.

I have been to Portofino several times and it’s always spot on, the food is delicious, the staff are friendly and smiling. Also, takeaways were on time and tasted very nice, as always. Looking forward for next time. Definitely recommended for all occasions.

Regularly visit Portofinos, it is my favourite restaurant in town. Every experience has been unbelievable, from dinner/tea to sunday lunch or takeaways. 100% recommend for good quality food, with in budget. Warm atmosphere inside and free bread to start, makes it the perfect place every time. Chicken a la crème or Pasta Benito are my personal faves.

We have been here as a family many times and have never once been disappointed. The only downside I can think of is how long it takes me to pick something, I have a new favourite meal ever time I go. On my last visit I had the Le Brie Parmo and it was delicious, great value for money, especially considering the more than generous portion sizes Couldn't recommend the food and friendly atmosphere enough, well worth travelling from spennymoor to visit.

Beautiful food. I had the chicken paesano. The Chicken was so moist and the veg was perfectly cooked. The rest of my family enjoyed their meal too. We often eat here as it’s one of our favourite restaurants in the north east. Get yourselves there, you will not be disappointed!

Fabulous meal as usual, staff are very attentive, helpful and really friendly and patient when it comes to young children! Great atmosphere to compliment the great food - would highly recommend the chicken a la crème and the hot shot parmo! Yum.
