We came here for an evening meal after being in the area. We have never been here before but we most certainly will come back. The staff were great very welcoming And accomodating. The food was delicious and a great price for the level of quality it was. A great atmosphere very relaxing we went into our own little world and felt so comfortable although we live down the other end of the country we will deffo be coming back. Will be thinking about staying over here :)

We selected this pub because is very highly rated in many guidebooks, including Michelin. So, we booked a table for dinner and drove there from quote afar. The place is nice, but the service, at least the one we received, was disappointing to say the least. The main issue was a 45-muinute wait on main courses. A second major issue was the bill that had a half bottle of Champagne that we ordered at the beginning, but then we were told was out of stock...so we did not get it, yet was still present in the bill (ALWAYS CHECK THE BILL...). Food was good, but portions were not generous. We also had several other hiccups with service (having to ask multiple times for water, tartare sauce, etc, and one waiter dropping all the cutlery on one person in our party). So, overall, I am sorry to say that was not a great experience. Surely, this place is overrated by guides like Michelin.Food & drinks: We selected this pub because is very highly rated in many guidebooks, including Michelin. Good food but terrible experience with the service: 40 minutes wait for the first course, misunderstandings with the waiters and wrong (over) charge on the bill.

Let’s start with the main event, food and bev, outstanding tastes, flavours, quality, portion sizes, and presentation. Very smart venue, in a pretty brownfield location, albeit with panoramic views north and west over the Humber, from the restaurant, but decidedly not from the bar! Pricing is unnecessarily high; the overall experience including location doesn’t warrant these prices, in my view. The other odd feature was the non-optional introductory speech from our server, about the establishment’s policy of using the whole animal. Not for the squeamish, or for the borderline vegetarian, and really could be toned down. I would think twice about returning.

The environment is lovely and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I think price wise it’s on the higher side but for a Gastro pub …. Probably normal so no complaints there…. I feel it’s the food that let the place down which is a real shame. There is a good choice on offer but the chef puts their twist on the menu. For example. We ordered a crab starter. Looked great …. Perfectly presented. Mashed with dill. Dislike dill so not eatable ….. no mention of dill in the menu…. I ordered bangers with onion gravy …. The sausages were of good quality but again so spiced just not enjoyable. I ate them but repeated on me all night. If you are using a specific flavoured sausage please put it in the menu to enable proper choice ….. Mac and cheese ordered …. Again mashed with some sort of mustard … again not mentioned in the menu. You get the picture. I guess it’s all down to taste some people may love the food so it may just be me and my wife. On the plus side the chicken live pate was terrific. Sorry to leave a mixed review but perhaps more info in the menu would be helpful

This is a wonderful Gastro pub. It is also a great restaurant with stunning menu's. Dogs are allowed in the pub but need to be well behaved and you can have the same menu. Good views in daylight and extremely friendly staff.

Absolutely loved our entire stay here for my partners birthday on Friday night. Nothing was too much trouble at any stage as I had been in contact regarding a few special surprises. Staff throughout were so friendly and attentive. An absolute stunning meal and beautiful surroundings. Will definitely be returning.

Lovely food. I had the fish and chips and my husband had the ribeye. Both were cooked to perfection. Service was so lovely, made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
