The hildyard Arms is a great community pub in the heart of the village. This friendly local has a good range of beers including a cask conditioned Real ale. The bar has darts and a pool table. There is plenty of seating in the secluded beer garden behind the pub.
I visited on two occasions and had a lovely meal on both visits. No complaints about the food at all. I didn't like getting my burger on a plank - would prefer a plate, however, it was very nice. Only drawback is that they don't take credit cards - remember to take cash!

Great customer service, lovely atmosphere everytime. Landlady and landlord are just lovely. Really worth a visit and they have a great selection of snacks and drinks. Very reasonably priced aswellKid-friendliness: Pool table and enclosed space out the back.
