“Stopped off here for food and booze. Decent beers, the food was great with a friendly service team. Everything you would hope for from a country pub. Muscles were well worth trying... if they are in season when you're there. Don't often give 5 stars but I think it's deserved ?”

“We have visited here before, just stopping for a coffee previously. This time we booked a table for the Sunday lunch and what a lovely experience it was. The staff were friendly and helpful, from the moment we walked in, and made the overall experience so much more pleasing. Then came the food.... All I can say it you won't be disappointed! Both the starter and main were fresh, hot and full of flavour. Unfortunately we were unable to experience the pudding menu as we were full from the previous. I would highly recommend this place, even just dropping in for a drink, in passing.”

“Escaped a rainy day for a couple of drinks in this lovely old pub in Battle. Really liked the atmosphere and seems like a place where you could have a great time. Didn't have food. Only negative was my dad was charged over £15 for a lager and G&T. Seems a bit excessive in the circunstances but he only mentioned it after we had left so it wasn't queried. Hence only giving a 3 star for service.”

“We came here for a last minute lunch (walked past the week before and I couldn't stop thinking about how good the food smelt). The food was absolutely fantastic!! We had an incredibly juicy bacon cheeseburger, dirty nachos with chilli and a kids Mac and cheese! We all left very full, very happy and in a slight food coma! The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was very friendly! Definitely recommend!!”
