Best in Eastbourne, hands down. The owner is very friendly and engaging, prices are decent and ice cream is top notch. Believe me when I say it is much, MUCH better than the Gelato parlour round the back, which in my view is overrated, expensive, poor service... Try Thayer's, you will not regret it.
We came here because the gelato shop closest to us was closed. We live quite far away, and on the way back we wanted to get a gelato to take to the car with us. We did not expect such friendly and good service. The man serving us was cheery and helpful, and we inquired about the many ornaments and pictures scattered around his shop. Very friendly service and amazing ice cream, particularly the vanilla freshly made on the premises. This is the kind of thing that is enough on its own to make me visit a town.Fed chips to the bold seagulls from the pier and then found this place. A perfect blustery seaside experience.
