We went to the ram today for a family sunday roast. It was incredibly overpriced for what we got and actually not that good. The meat was tough, the roast potatoes poor, not crispy at all, the gravy was watery and it came out luke warm. Not impressed at all. The cost was towards the higher end of what most pubs charge for sunday roast these days but for what we got we really disappointed and will not be returning. Its a shame because the location is great. The food could have been and should have been so much better for the price.Food & drinks: Pricey and underwhelming! You would get better (and hotter) food from a food truck at a tap room!

This place is just soooo nice!! Super dog friendly ?This is where me and my partner had our first date!! So for valentine's day we decided to go back to where it all began We've been here a few times now and every time staff have been welcoming and friendly. We've sat in all the different areas and we definitely prefer upstairs as a bit more quieter than the bar area. Always has the the fire places lit always cosy and warm!!The food is incredible always has so much flavour we're still yet to go here in the summer to sit outside in the sunshine roll on summer ?Thank you!!

A very brief trip for a swift half. Beer excellent, from Burning Sky brewery (which is in the village). Also offer Harvey's Best. Beautiful old Inn. Decent size beer garden. Def worth a visit. South Downs Way close by.

Great traditional style pub in beautiful village and surroundings. Perfect for it's setting. Food also great.

Great old country pub, bordering on a restaurant. Tables were too tightly packed for my liking, but a good atmosphere, roaring fire, table service, stunning food. Expensive. All in all, a great experience. This would be a stunning pub in the summer months, great outdoor seating.

Such a gorgeous, warm, welcoming friendly pub! Super cosy after a walk through the beautiful Firle village. I’ve been here many times before and I’ve always had such a great experience. Food is also delicious and reasonable priced for the area. Recommend highly!

What a cosy pub with excellent food, all locally sourced and well presented. Log fires in each bar, dog friendly and attentive staff added to the ambience of a country pub in the winter. I imagine it is really popular in the summer months with lots of outside seating.

Cosy country pub serving up tasty plates. Portions not overly generous but tasty none-the-less. Service well meaning but could be improved - slow to clear, kids food came last, extras forgotten. Despite that we would return as it's a comfortable, welcoming space and we enjoyed our meal.

NB: this review is for the restaurant only. I had a fantastic, wonderful Sunday roast lunch. My friend and I shared the lamb. We had the prawns appetiser. I had the crumble for dessert. The food was delicious. It was fresh and the portion sizes were decent. Obviously a three course meal for two with a couple of drinks each is going to cost around £50 each so it’s not astronomical but obviously not cheap. See my photos of the food. A solid 5 stars, the service was good, nice festive decor and ambience and a nice warming fire. Overall, a lovely day out.Food & drinks: See my main review above.

Had lunch with a friend at The Ram. We both chose the cod served with cabbage on a bed of parsnip puree. It was delicious and I highly recommend this dish, but it could have been a larger portion. It was a very busy day and we had to wait for our main course for some time. This was not a problem for us as we chat a lot, although my friend was getting hungry. Overall a good place to meet and have lunch which we do about every six weeks.
