We are on holiday in Golden Cross and went to the Yew Tree Inn on recommendation. So glad we did, best meal we have had here, 10 out of 10. The salt and pepper squid melts in the mouth, belly pork was sublime and the lasagne was absolutely delicious. Service was quick, friendly and very attentive. Make sure you visit, you won't be disappointed!!

Really lovely pub with live music, a marquee, loads of outdoor seating and a decent sized play area for kids. Ample parking too! We had vegan chilli nachos (I asked them to add cheese) which were brilliant. Thought it a bit odd that nachos were served with rice and would have preferred just tortilla chips, chilli and the toppings but it was a really good portion and very nice. My only negative is that the pub itself was shut and it was a bit cold when we visited but we had little ones with us and they couldn't stand the loudness of the music in the marquee so we decided to leave early.

Beautiful setting with incredible food. Great family place with a play area lots of grass to play on and a field with football goal. Will definitely be back many times this summer

Pretty setting, great food (especially the fish cakes). Book to get a seat in the weekend. Only dining in the marquee.

I had been looking forward to coming here with my family for ny birthday. None of us had been before. The park was great for the kids, portion sizes were good but i did not like that we were in a marquee. Although it was hot outside, the breeze was strong and we were quite cold waiting for our meal. Also queueing up to order food was frustrating as there were many people waiting that were only buying drinks. It took 45-50 minutes for our food to arrive. The pork belly was good, the beef was far too pink for me, but that's personal preference. Deserts were ok. Just felt like we were in someones garden rather than at a restaurant. Staff were friendly ?

A lovely relaxing ambiance and good service. The food was okay. We both had a chiabatta which was fine, but there was a strong taste of cheap margarine and the Marie rose sauce with my prawns was extremely runny.

We went on Sunday 20th March when we arrived told the girl hower name she asked the name of hower party 3 times .then she said the table over there we sat down on table laid up for six l got the lady attention she said come to the bar to order the food l asked for roast lamb was told not today so had roast chicken then ordered drinks the black haired lady which was not English could not understand what we asked for she served my mother in law a wine and lemonade but forgot the lemonade. Then the lunch arrived it was cold .we came before covid and was a lovly meal not anymore. Would not recommended this place .The amount of peopleTaking there drinks back to the bar was a lot of complaints could not do the service of a bar maid .

We attended today Sunday 27th Feb 2022. 5 in total three adults and 2 children (aged 11 and 13). It was our first visit and we booked last night for a table today. It was fully booked largely. We all wanted a Sunday roast. We were not sure if our children, who are big eaters would need an adult meal or a child’s meal? They decided on.A child’s mealThe staff were lovely and attentive and we ordered at the bar and it was at the table very quickly. One adult had the roast of the day, Lamb and the other two had pork belly. The childrens meals were ample for my two big eaters. The pork belly was beautiful cooked to perfection and tasted beautiful. Roast potatoes cooked perfectly as was the veg.The only thing that we felt let down the rest of the high quality meal was the shop bought small Yorkshire puddings. I wouldn’t take anything away from my review because of it, but we all did comment that the quality of the food we would have expected a home made Yorkshire pudding, but hey no big issue. We had desserts too, everyone we had was tasty and wonderful! Adults roasts £13 and childrens £7.50 desserts £6. Total bill with drinks for 5 was £98 we left full and very happy worth every penny.

Firstly I always start with three stars and add if anything is outstanding or conversely, reduce for bad points.Setting. Its on the Winters edge so the grounds are a bit muddy, the marquee is closed and its all a little sad looking. Nonetheless, the interior was warm and although not covid friendly, theres was ample if not comfortable seating.Staff were hit and miss. Some smiling, some not. If the food had been piping hot i would have added a star but it was lukewarm. Saying that, i did not hear one complaint about the quality and i have to agree. I would definitely return but not with a group.

Had a really enjoyable meal here to celebrate a birthday. Competitively priced and well cooked and presented food. Excellent service too. Interior of pub was very comfortable and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Will definitely return.
