Took my father in law for a birthday meal last Saturday and had a wonderful meal. The food was excellent but the service stood out the most. Our waitress, Julia, have been more patient and helpful!!Vegetarian options: Excellent vegetarian food!

Beautiful place lovely pub good service lovely atmosphere check my son and family for his 30th birthday all the food was lovely however I had the mix combo Carvery with beef and lamb the meat was rare and I couldn't even get my steak knife through the Lamb very fatty in which I know it can be, shame, as the rest of the food , was lovely

Called to make a provisional booking for my mums wake. I was promised that details of menus and costs would be sent. Nothing received. Called again to be told that this would be followed up. Nothing. We have booked elsewhere instead. Very poor service. Obviously don’t want the business.

I met a friend for lunch today at The Gun. We had not booked but were warmly welcomed and given a choice of tables. The two members of staff on duty at the tables were just so nice, and the food was excellent and very good value. First rate for food, service and value.Vegetarian options: Really lovely goats cheese salad. You can choose a starter to be main course sized, further increasing the options

Really lovely experience, one of our group is a celiac sufferer so we needed to be very careful with ingredients.The staff were incredible and attentive, particularly our waitress Julia. Food and Wine were perfect. Lovely atmosphereNot the first time we have dined here and certainly won't be the last.

The Gun always has fab food and on this occasion we were served by Julia who made a great recommendation as I was on the fence about what to eat. She was friendly and funny and definitely improved our experience. My friend and I both had pizzas which were delicious and I could have easy eaten another. We shared some fries which were not very hot but were tasty. Unfortunately the experience was slightly dampened by a screaming child right next to our table, but this was still a 5/5 visit for me.Food is slightly on the pricier side depending on your budget but the food is definitely worth it.

Great place for a family gathering with very good selection of food, and happy to allow you to change things on the menu to suit individual preference. Attentive, but not intrusive, service with reasonable prices for the good portion sizes.We wil certainly be going back again soon.

Lovely pub with wood fires and good food. The kids enjoyed the playground but there was a bit of a smell in the toilets.
You will not beat this timeless country pub for location, ambience, service, wine and above all magic food. Thank you, well done, happy New Year ???
We found the woman who served us was abrupt and all but rude. And although the food was ok it didn't live up to the high prices charged.
