First rate food in a friendly atmosphere where you can see the chefs preparing the food . Loved the sushi and sashimi , followed by tempura . Fresh tasty fish beautifully presented. A firm favourite of ours now.

Absolutely outstanding food! Our new fave restaurant in the area. The food is delicious, the service is great and the value is phenominal.

This is a great restaurant to bring the kids. It was reasonably priced, delicious fresh food and the whole family enjoyed it.

Took the chance and availed their unlimited sushi offer for £15!Love how the seating surrounds the preparation table so you can see the staff create and assemble your order in front of you! They had a variety of options from maki, gunkan and warm sushi rolls! The food tasted really fresh and pungent which i absolutely loved! With every bite I knew I wanted more and more! The warm sushi felt even more filling and heavy as compared to the regular sushi rolls tasted more like a hot rice bowl. However I must say it was quite unsettling to see the work tension between the staff and the waitress. Wish the person preparing the sushi spoke less passive aggressively to the waitress. Felt really bad to witness that.

I live local to Aji and have tried to enjoy it several times over the years but each time I have been disappointed. The food is lovely, however, the service is extremely poor. Staff seem to struggle to greet and serve in a welcoming manner, and their responses are cold when asking questions. The restaurant is very small and on one occasion when eating in all staff were having loud and personal conversations amongst themselves throughout our experience. My final straw was today when visiting to experience the new all-you-can-eat lunch offer, I was told I was not eligible for this offer because I had my son with me who was not eating. My son has several allergies so is very limited to what he can eat, and would not have been eating anything from my personal plate. I was told he was only allowed in there if he was eating too, as that’s ‘just the policy’. I would understand this more if he was taking up the seat of a paying customer but there was plenty of free space. I seated us directly in front of the chef, so by no means was the offer going to be taken advantage of. I would have also purchased drinks for us both had I been given the chance. I don’t usually leave negative reviews but I am so disappointed my experiences here are a continual let down, especially as their food is nice and I live so local that it would be a regular spot for me if they were more pleasant. I will not be visiting again and will no longer recommend to anyone.

We asked for the chef’s selection sashimi and It was lovely. The portions were very generous and the fish delicious. We also asked for the chefs selection. Nigiri, which was just the same selection as the sashimi, which was a real shame. Considering we had the other chef’s selection they could have mixed it up. Also the rice had no real flavour. It wasn’t prepared well, just cooked with no flavouring, which is not how it should be.What was worse though was the ambience and the way the place was managed. They have an open preparation area, which could be lovely, but this was messy and unclean. There were plastic tubs everywhere, implements strewn around and the whole prep area was cluttered. The staff were arguing amongst themselves, and one was moaning about tips all the time in front of the customers. I have no idea who was managing the place, if there was anyone. There was just doing their own thing. When we arrived the bench table was sticky, there were no plates, or serving implements, and when they do arrive they did in bits and pieces. Some were left from previous customers, and some “were still being washed”.Overall this place needs a proper manager. There is potential with the quality of the food but if someone could get hold of running the place it could be a real highlight. It’s definitely not now.

Yesterday we, my family and a friend had lunch. Food was midiocre apart from the Gyudon (not eatable). Also, service was not efficient. But we paid not much as it was Eat out to Help out day.

The service is great and the food is good. We went for the all-you-can-eat offer and it didn't disappoint. Basically you get a reduced menu to choose from, it includes good options and basically you can order as much as you want. The only problem (and this is why I rate 4/5) are the young chefs, they are disorganized, sloppy, they get confused with the orders, and argue between them. We got some random selection that we didn't order (it was not a big deal for us because we wanted to taste most of the menu but it can be a real problem for other people).Dietary restrictions: Be careful if you have dietary restrictions, they do not separate the ingredients very good and it is very clear that cross contamination can happen. Avoid if you are allergic.

I went recently as part of group of work colleagues for a Christmas meal. I arrived at 7.30 pm but when I asked in the Restaurant where we were seated they didn’t know as the table wasn’t ready. I looked around for colleagues and eventually we were seated. The meal was lovely from the soup to the main course (Turkey) however it did take a long time to be served probably due to the number of group bookings on the same evening. The main grumble I have is the lack of air conditioning which is needed when the area is so crowded. We struggled to open a window to get some air which would only open a couple of inches. This is something that needs addressing. My other concern was that there is only the one staircase to the restaurant area. This is why I gave a score of 4.

Goodness, this is some very high quality sushi. I love the attitude of the folks here not to mention the servers are incredibly on it. I'll love to come back again, I didn't have any but the cocktails looked tasty.
