We had an amazing experience at Etch being served and greeted by Steven himself. The food and the service is outstanding! Over the years we visited several Michelin restaurants with mixed experiences but Etch. is one of 3 places so far that we will definitely be coming back to when in Brighton next. Each dish was beautiful, full of flavour and immaculately presented. Not possible to choose our favourite! Thank you for a truly 5-star experience!

As foodies that love visiting restaurants all over…. The three of us agreed that this was the best dining experience we’ve had in years! Absolutely perfect welcome into the restaurant by the main man! Modern cocktails in the bar first followed by an amazing tasting menu. Amazing pescatarian and vegetarian menu that isn’t a polite alternative to meat as in many high end restaurants… fresh flavours, outstanding taste… wonderful service. Thank you for making our evening wonderful

Hey so having your birthday 2 days after Christmas is pretty much crap… awful food…rail not running..Christmas leftovers but this year I discovered etch ! Can’t wait go again really loved the whole experience and the food was amazing

We had a nine course tasting menu for lunch, which was amazing! The food was impeccable, and each dish surprised us and was super delightful! All the staff were super knowledgable, and super welcoming but, I want to specifically call out Crystal, she was our waitress for our meal and we have never had a waitress, so friendly and fun! She was AMAZING and made the experience even better! Thanks everyone at etch!

A great 7 course tasting menu with guest chef alongside Steven. We also had the wine pairing which was a treat in itself. Lovely atmosphere and decor, definitely something for a special occasion (it was our 25 year anniversary) as not that kind on the pocket!! Thank you for making our anniversary so memorable.

I have plenty of favourites, but this one is special, and a cut above anything else the city has to offer. It is, without doubt, the best restaurant in Brighton! It always feels like such a special treat to be cooked for, and looked after, by this talented bunch. I’ve been coming here since it first opened, and just love it. It seems to get better every time. Steven and the team do such an amazing job of making you feel so welcome. It’s a perfect balance of sophisticated, yet relaxed. The food is simply another level. So much flavour in every bite and all presented in such an elegant way. The service is always fantastic. A very welcoming team, who always go above and beyond to make your night special. We are very lucky to have this talented chef in our city, and the restaurant deserves all the accolades and praise it receives. Thank you again for another amazing night. See you again soon.

It’s been 5 or so years since I’ve dined at Etch so the return visit was well overdue. Pleased to report that the visit was absolutely divine from start to finish. Welcome and the service were warm and lovely - pro tip, start with a drink in the cocktail bar before moving to your seat. The food was absolutely gorgeous - flavour exploding from every bite. We went for the five course which was great value for money. In terms of favorite dishes, it was very difficult to choose. The opening snacks were divine - mushroom truffle bite was a WOW flavour bomb. Similar for the tomato soup - the elevating of humble ingredients were super impressive. Great wine list too - we went for a lovely orange wine which complemented the meal nicely. Highly recommend and I will not be going 5 more years before visiting again!!Vegetarian options: We were able to have some members of our party try the veggie menus whilst others had the meat. Main comment from vegetarians was that the dishes didn’t feel like afterthoughts at all - they showcased the vegetarian side very well.

What can I say but WOW!Booked as a solo diner and requested specific seating which was taken into account.A call before my booked dinner reservation, asked me about any dietary requirements or allergies which were confirmed upon arrival - not lost in a chain of office to restaurant email communication.Was warmly greeted and the staff made me feel so at ease.Opted for the tasting menu as didn't want a heavy main course, and this was just perfect.The service was impeccable - each of the course contents thoroughly explained upon arrival.Would go as far as saying that this was the best dining experience I've ever had.Thank you to the team at Etch.Dietary restrictions: Called beforehand to check allergens and preferences.

Booked this a week in advance instead of heading into London for our anniversary and it was just as good. Opted for the 5 course menu based on previous experience and were full by the end of it. Every course was well timed, explained in detail and of exceptional taste and quality. Cocktails were good too and all staff very attentive. Will be back.

A really special place. Have lived nearby in Hove for a few years and until this week had not ventured into etch. Great experience. Wonderful food. Special touches really appreciated with the birthday card left on the table and Steven popping out of the kitchen to welcome us into his “home” and serving at the tables. Hope to be back. Fortunate enough to have eaten at many fine restaurants around the world. Etch in Hove can live with the best of them. The food is fantastic, every course was a delight. We didn’t do a wine flight but chose from the well curated wine list. The chef and staff are attentive, without being obsequious. It’s not cheap, but is excellent value for the quality of food and as an experience to remember. The best restaurant in Hove.
