The service in the bar is appalling. No body seems to be in charge and I was told that I would be served in two minutes three times and then when the . young lady finally emerged she served someone else. When I eventually got served I was then told that the beer was off and nobody was available to change the barrel . Very bad ?

Popped in today for their 2 courses for £16.00. Had ham hock terrine which was THE best I have ever had with salted bread, divine!! Main course butternut squash lasagne so tasty ! Louis served our table and was very attentive… I will be visiting again hidden gem !!

Sunday lunch time birthday visit with 4 adults and 2 babies.Staff were friendly and helpful, although not too attentive. Lunch was huge and we took half of it away. It was delicious but it wasn't hot enough really. We didn't say anything as we were pretty hungry and distracted by the kids when it arrived. Will definitely go backFood & drinks: Great dinner and Harvey's

Had lunch in the pub last weekend with family. Friendly welcome and served immediately at bar for drinks. Cosy table in a corner which was handy with a young nephew. Had an enormous portion of battered cod & chips. Only slight comment would be to let the oil drain a bit more from the fish as there was quite a bit on plate. Others had pies which went down well too.

Warm and cosy with lovely log fires - there is a large barn function room which was beautifully decorated for Christmas- really welcoming staff - good service - the food was disappointing- we had the Christmas menu at £34 for 3 courses, my beetroot and goat cheese tart had no goats cheese and a teeny tiny amount of beetroot- the turkey was delicious however the roasties went soggy with all the rest of the meal piled on top of them the sprouts were so hard I don’t think they even saw the boiling water and finally the profiteroles were mainly still frozen - in fairness to them they took off 10% removed the service charge and gave us complimentary coffees - however that was our girls get together for Christmas so disappointing

Had an amazing lunch at the Roebuck on a Saturday afternoon. Excellent home cooked food (huge portions).Friendly staff and a good choice of drinks both soft and alcoholic. Nice garden with play area and an open fire for cosy cold days. A little more pricey than some pubs but definitely worth it.We had pie of the day and Sussex smokie.... Perfect.

Lovely pub. Nice friendly staff.

Hard leftover fries, mediocre burger and dry chicken. OK for drinks but awful food.

Great food with lots of options. Classic pub dishes with some oriental and tapas type dishes too. Traditional pub atmosphere.Food & drinks: Good range of local Long Man Beers

Had the roast dinner and whilst the beef was nice, the gravy was awful and very salty, veg appeared tired, almost as if it had been cooked earlier in the day and kept warm for several plus hours. Meal for 5 with just mains for. £90 not good value and unlikely to visit again.
