Great little spot I had been meaning to stop in for some time and finally did today. The food was impeccable, mainly Jamaican dishes with other typical pub grub, I had sirloin which was cooked to a perfect medium, my son had fish and chips (the fish was super light and fluffy) my friend had the goat curry. Suffice to say we were all very happy. Highly recommend this quirky little spot.

We'd found the pub as part of a walking route, and am I glad we did! Fantastic food - I had a Jamaican goat curry and it was a perfect balance of heat and umami. Well kept Harvey's at a reasonable price and to cap it all lovely people running it. When we realised how easy it was to get to with frequent buses stopping outside the door and Cooksbridge train station just up the road, we promised ourselves we'd definitely be back

We stopped off here for a night after attending Plumpton Racecourse, it's a short drive from the course itself and turned out to be an ideal choice. The welcome was great, a smiling face to greet you makes all the difference and sets the tone for the stay. Our cosy room was clean, fresh and very comfortable, bottled water/tea/coffee/biscuits were provided in the room, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had everything we needed. We had a superb Breakfast before we left in the morning, Tea/Coffee/Orange Juice/ Cereal etc were all laid out for us but we opted to go straight into The English Breakfast which was delicious ! We really liked this place and the people running it, if you're looking for somewhere near Plumpton Racecourse, or somewhere convenient to Lewes stop searching and just book this place, you wont be disappointed ! Thank you for looking after us so well, we really appreciate it. Vernon & Anna

Brilliant service, exceptional food. The staff are friendly helpful and lovely with my little ones. They couldn’t have done more to make our stay comfortable. Highly recommended.
Stayed on a Sunday night. Unfortunately, the restaurant closed at 4pm, but breakfast was excellent. The room was comfortable and clean, although the stairs would not suit someone with limited mobility. There's adequate parking, and the hotel is conveniently situated for Lewes.

Stayed at the Blacksmiths Arms last weekend and it was excellent. Local real ale at the bar, freshly made Jamaican food that was delicious. The room was clean, comfortable with a good en suite bathroom. Parking around the back of the pub. Super views of the local countryside from across the road.
