Netwerks, 4 Fisher St, LewesI found The Sip through Google search. It's a cozy lovely place. Breakfast was good. I had the small English and I am full! I like the vibes here as the guy who looks after the guests makes everyone feels welcome, including the dog. It's a pet friendly place too☺️.

Resting Oak Hill, Cooksbridge, LewesA second visit this week as we were so impressed by the Sunday carvery.
Friday is pie day, (2 for £20 at the time of writing!) I had the most amazing beef and Guinness pie served with mustard mash and a red wine gravy.
You get a choice mash, my wife had horseradish, both were delicious!
All food is prepared in house! Good wholesome nosh!

10 Fisher St, LewesLovely little Italian Restaurant that sells proper authentic Italian Pizza - that my boys absolutely love (seven year olds) one in particular is very fussy with his food and his Piazza, on the last visit he said it was the best Pizza he has ever had! :)

7 Fisher St, LewesI have never been able to shake the nagging feeling that sushi could be improved solely by the addition of one thing, chips. Thank god I no longer have to wonder as Alex and Lilly have bravely answered the age old question: what if a sushi restaurant was also a chippy. Extremely happy to have found this unlikely yet superb establishment. Not only can it's sushi compare with the best restaurant fare but it's an honest to god proper chippy as well, down to the pickled eggs. The food speaks for itself and Alex and Lilly are as cordial as local businesses owners come. Go and see for yourself, I implore you.

1 Mount Pl, LewesWe dropped in for a drink after having the Lewes arms recommended to us by someone we chatted to at lunch. A great old pub with excellent beer and really friendly staff (the landlord used to run the falcon in Clapham junction and does terrible jokes). Beer was very well cared for. We may move down to Lewes just because of this pub. Ok, maybe not, but it’s great.

3 Station St, LewesOrdered two burgers when we were in a rush to catch the train. Food came out in 5 minutes, excellent burgers and fries at a great price. Bartender even rushed our food to make sure we got it in time. Ended up having a delicious meal with plenty time to spare before the train!

Eat in or take away they are absolutely fantastic. Always generously portion with super fresh ingredients. Owner and the staff are lovely and cannot be more accommodating. Try the coffee too, produced by a friend, wonderful blend and extremely high quality.

Cafe Ganges,has consistently delivered an exceptional experience every time I order. Their tandoori dishes and butter chicken are absolutely stunning—packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Whether I’m dining in or ordering takeout, the quality remains top-tier.
The staff are incredibly polite, welcoming, and always friendly. Even when I order for delivery, the service is prompt, and the food arrives warm, well-packaged, and without any mess. That level of care really stands out.
I’ve also had the pleasure of dining in, and the experience was just as great. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the management personally greets guests, which adds a lovely personal touch.
On top of all that, the pricing is very reasonable—especially considering the location—and there’s plenty of parking available nearby, which makes it even more convenient.
They also serve halal meat which is much appreciated!
Highly recommend Cafe Ganges —great food, great people, and always a pleasure.

I had the Sussex beef burger, it didn't have any flavour whatsoever, very bland. The fries were great though. Squid was average again, salad wasn't great either. The staff are lovely and the local beers are very nice too. I will return, but probably just for drinks.

The Green, Newick, LewesWe stayed at the Bull for three nights the service in the pub was really good and the food excellent however the room left alot to be desired the mattress needed changing, the shower head kept falling down and the TV position was silly. However it was just somewhere to sleep.

The food is great, well-priced (especially if you join their Perks), there's plenty of choice and plenty of - healthy - kid-pleasers on the kid's menu too. Kris and his team are attentive, friendly, and nothing is too much bother - whether it's grabbing another fork when our three year old knocks one on the floor, or making sure our picky eater doesn't get a 'face' on her face pizza.
We love it here and look forward to eating there whenever we can.

22 Malling St, LewesStayed one night while trekking the South Downs Way. We felt it was an excellent value and a very fair price for our accommodations. Enjoyed a hearty dinner, comfy room, and a light breakfast before continuing on our trek the next day. The small staff was very busy tending the bar, serving dinner, and running the hotel, but they could not have been kinder or more attentive. We had a medical emergency with one of our party, and we inadvertently forgot to leave our room key on checkout. When we called to ask about paying to replace it, or mail it back, they offered to drive to our next hotel and retrieve the key, no charge. They also found a bag that had been left behind by one of our party, and they made sure to deliver it early the next day, when they came to retrieve the key. Amazing service! So glad we were able to stay at the Dorset, they made us feel welcome and really went above and beyond.

This is a very traditional pub with old pub smell, but serving good drinks and great food, and very friendly and personable staff. There is a section at the front with the main bar, and then another section at the rear with more sesting, a second nar, a pool table, and beer garden.
Highly recommended as prices are very reasonable for Lewes.

LewesWe had dinner during the long interval. We'd ordered a bottle of wine beforehand which was waiting for us along with a jug of iced water. Although the menu was two course (mains & dessert), there were nibbles also on the table and bread. Quantities of both courses excellent as well as quality. We had beautiful roast beef, perfectly cooked with huge Yorkshire pudding, jus and a gratin on the side. Not cheap, but what is, thoroughly enjoyed

Properly light and fluffy with a proper filling of jam! I returned at lunchtime and purchased a BBQ chicken, coleslaw and cheese sandwich. £4.20 at this point in time. Hand cut thick bread with a lot of filling. It was more filling than any prepackaged shop sandwich. Unbelievable for such reasonably priced food that fed me for the day. Well done to all staff.

Unit 14 Cliffe Industrial Est, LewesUnfortunately I was unable to visit Beak Brewery in the flesh last week so I thought I'd order a box of joy from their website.
Superb service and delivery was spot on. I can only imagine how great the real life service is if the delivery service is anything to go by.
