Stopped here for a meal and had a nice steak and ale pie . Was packed with steak. Also had Benofe pie for dessert, unfortunately the base was a bit hard that did spoil it slightlyNot the cheapest place to eat !

Gorgeous little pub we stumbled upon after a dog walk. We were greeted by a friendly landlord who also welcomed our dog in too.. We visited Saturday 4pm-ish and there were plenty of patron parking and places to sit. We only stayed for 1 drink but would love to go back and eat.. They had an open fireplace which sadly wasn't lit at the time but I hope it would be next time..perfect after a long weekend dog walk.Decore was awesome and their walls are peppered with interesting artifacts..To top it off.. As we left there was huge rainbow in the sky. Definitely a sign that we should return.. This hidden pot of gold is definitely on our list of places to go back to ????Parking: No issues at all.. See photoKid-friendliness: There were families with very well manored small children.

Really well run pub. Sandwiches are a bit pricey but you get a lot of food with them.

Booked ahead, weekday lunch for 4. Food is normal everyday pub fare, nothing fancy. That's fine if done well but although quite tasty there was a mixture of warm (not hot) and cold in most dishes, and 1 was served a good 5 minutes after the other 3. Quite expensive. Moderately busy, perhaps there was insufficient staff on. Waitress was nice and smiley.

We've been meaning to visit this pub for years but never got around to doing so. Went here on the spur of the moment and was very pleasantly surprised, a lovely village pub with a fair range of beers available. Great service from the staff and a very interesting menu. Food was very good and a fair portion. Think we'll be going back again soon.

Have eaten here a couple of times recently first time as a couple, was so impressed with the food we took the whole family back for a birthday meal. Again the food did not disappoint, Sunday roast was excellent, starters, desserts everything was lovely. Staff very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning, hopefully soon.

Stopped going here over four years ago because the service was so slow. Visited today, lo and behold, nothing has improved! Waited for an hour for one course and the delay after that was so long, we decided not to have desserts. The food is reasonable quality, nothing exceptional but they have no idea regarding customer service. It annoyed me when the staff came over twice to ask if we wanted more drinks, but nothing came out of the kitchen. They don't serve a complicated menu so there was no excuse.

Had our Xmas Lunch today so different from usual menu. Pate and red union chutney was lovely but had a crust of ciabatta that I could not eat as very hard. Turkey came with massive Yorkshire Pudding that made it difficult to manage the rest. Found the turkey a bit dry and in chunks which I don't especially like. Red Cabbage was lovely though. They probably are better with ordinary food I think.

I have had 3 roasts in the last 6 weeks at the Griffin, The Hurstwood and the Foresters and this in by far my favourite for food. Also the value is also the best. Not saying the others are bad just this is the best!

Great country pub, nice indoor dining area and outdoor garden with lots of space. Food was great.
