The twin room we had was not perfect e.g. broken window in bathroom and a few dusty surfaces. Food, however, was outstanding - both the steaks we had for dinner and the full English breakfast.

We had a great Sunday roast. The beef was cooked to perfection for me. Yorkshire pudding great

I had a romantic Birthday camping trip at the Boating Station nearby, and went for dinner at The White Hart on a Saturday evening - we didn't book, but just walked up the road and asked if we could order some food. We were made incredibly welcome and ended up eating some delicious food. The staff were nicely attentive, but not in our faces - they checked that we had all we needed, then left us alone to enjoy ourselves which was perfect. The food was excellent. I had a steak and my date had a smoked haddock pasta dish (if I remember correctly!) and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. They were BIG platefuls of food though, so if you're not very hungry, it may be worth asking for a smaller portion. The price was totally fair and we left feeling full to the brim and happily satisfied. Thank you everyone at The White Hart!

I visited this pub in August I am writing this review in disgust! I received a parking fine and immediately phoned the pub for them to verify I used the pub on the date of the fine. A young lady informed me I needn’t do anything as they would inform the parking company and the fine would be squashed! A week later I received a reminder and again I phoned the pub and a Second Lady informed me she would deal with it and actually remembered me going in the pub to meet my cousin (who incidentally was in a different white hart !! ) Last week I received a debt collectors letter so again rang the pub and another lady listened to my story and said she would get the manager to deal with it! I was uncertain then as the two previous employees hadn’t dealt with this so I rang the company! Only to discover that as it had not been ‘dealt with’ by the staff as promised / I had to pay £170 !!! As far as I was aware I had entered my number plate correctly on the machine on the bar!! Please don’t get caught out like me! A very expensive cup of coffee!!!!!

We were just about to pass ”The White Hart” and decided to pop in for lunch as we haven't been in for a couple of years.Nicely presented Tudor style pub/restaurant with ample seating available, although we hadn't booked in advance they were kind enough to fit us in.Staff were friendly and polite and made us feel very welcome, sat us at a nice window seat and gave us the menus.Although the menu was very interesting and quite comprehensive it did appear to be mainly Italian dishes and unfortunately I am not really keen on Italian dishes cuisine.I decided to ask if I could have something like sausage eggs with chips and that was not a problem for them.I am not suggesting that you can ask them for anything you want that isn't on the menu just because you fancy it,as I said the menu is very decent and I am sure you will find something you would like,For service and quality of food I would definitely recommend "The White Hart"

DRIVERS BEWARE £170 parking fine (no other letters) for parking in the pub car park. I'll never be back. Phoned, was told I hadn't bought anything when I'd had a meal and drinks with my son while camping down the road. Then, I was told I didn't register my car on the iPad - was I to automatically know to do this? I've never paid or registered to park in ANY pub car park. I didn't look for related signs in this hamlet (Why would I as a patron?). The car park was dead, big and empty. The was no parking problem to be 'managed'. Very opportunistic. Defies logic when pubs are struggling and need support. I can appeal - I will - who has time for this. I hope this helps others.

One of the few country pubs left in Kent. We stopped here a couple of weeks ago and the pub was as nice inside as it is from out. The bar had a good selection of beers and we were lucky enough to sit out in the garden to enjoy breakfast and lunch. Afterwards we were able to walk the dog along the footpath by the river which is a pleasant route, there looks to be a footpath down the side of the pub so we will try that next time. We’ll be back in a few weeks for the live music evening.

I first stayed here whilst I was working in the local area and the staff were very welcoming and got to know me over the course of my stay. Since then, I’ve returned a number of times for short stays and for dinners. Newenden is under an hour's drive from where we live in London so we often pop down on a weekend. I had a ribeye steak out of their new aging fridge they have in the pub, it was cooked perfectly with all the usual sides. Thoroughly recommend visiting if in the area or want to get away from the hustle and bustle for a weekend!

Urgh this pub has so gone down hill. Implemented parking fines for the smallest car park. Signs up everywhere youd this it was a military base. £4 for a diet coke. £22 for a salad that was literally leaves and one measly slice of undercooked beef. No tomatoes, cumber nothing. Had to send 2 meals back because they were inedible. And they add a service charge and don't say. After ordering drinks and food for everyone they added over £15 worth of service charge and I was carrying my drinks out to the garden. I asked them to take if off which they made a fuss about. Honestly avoid. Best of taking your own snacks of you've been paddleboarding nearby or head to Tenterden only 15 mins drive away much nicer. I avoid this place like the plague.
