The twin room we had was not perfect e.g. broken window in bathroom and a few dusty surfaces. Food, however, was outstanding - both the steaks we had for dinner and the full English breakfast.
I had a romantic Birthday camping trip at the Boating Station nearby, and went for dinner at The White Hart on a Saturday evening - we didn't book, but just walked up the road and asked if we could order some food. We were made incredibly welcome and ended up eating some delicious food. The staff were nicely attentive, but not in our faces - they checked that we had all we needed, then left us alone to enjoy ourselves which was perfect.The food was excellent.
