We used to go to this pub quite frequently pre covid days. It was recommended to us and we have recommended to many others. The pub/restaurant was always full to capacity and the menu was excellent However today we took my parents who celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last week. The pub was half empty and a limited menu. The food was average and quite pricey for what it was and compared to the past. It was a long journey for my parents for something quite average. We were hugely disappointed and unfortunately will not be returning.

Great food, Great Service, Great Value... I'd recommend both the Belly Pork or the Roast Lamb. Great portions and delicious.

Love this pub. Food and service excellent. Cosy village pub. Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: My friend had the vegetable curry which she said was delicious.Parking: Easy parking with a short walk to the entrance of the pub.

Good pub food. We had roast dinners which were nice, decent size portions. A huge chunk of a decent bannoffi pie for pudding. Service was great and a nice atmosphere. The only thing that let it down was plastic containers of UHT milk for our tea and coffee at the end. I would have expected proper milk. Would recommend though.

This place doesn't live up to it's reputation unfortunately. Went for a meal Thursday evening, and the place was dead. I thought then, this is a bad sign. I ordered the belly pork with mustard mush and braised red cabbage. The mash tasted like it was microwabable mash, there was no flavour is the braised red cabbage it was just sweetness. My fiance had the pie if the day (which the waitress wasn't even sure if they had a pie of the day on?) It was mint and lamb. His pie was tiny and not presented well at all! Literally just a square of pastry plopped in top of the pie mix. There was hardly any meat and the gravy was instant gravy. My daughter had the Mac cheese. I'm sorry, but what they served it in looked like a cat's dish and it tasted of nothing. By then my fiance and I decided not to bother with the deserts but my daughter had vanilla ice cream. She got one scoop.Very disappointed. Next time, I think I'll stay at home because my partner and I can cook better than that with our eyes closed and the portions are bigger and cheaper.

Very popular and reasonably priced. Not a young peoples place. Parking is easy. Nestled in a tiny village. Warm atmosphere. Fire is crackling on cold days. Food is very good. I recommend the

Had a problem with food no one around to complain to. Steak pie very fatty. Peas tepid and hard needed longer cooking time. Won't go back.

Had an absolutely fantastic meal todayCalamari to start, roast Lamb for main and chocolate brownie for pudding.I'm not sure where I managed to put it all, but I loved every bite. The rest for our table were burgers and macaroni cheese with banoffee pie to finish, and they all said the same.We can't wait to come back soon to try more of the menu.
