Lovely real country pub, great outdoor space for summer, lovely area indoors for winter months, quiet small as my friends 13 year old said from London. Good was absolutely lovely pub food.Parking: Sid if road parking that is a little tight, can imagine locals aren't happy, but a beautiful quiet spot, can not ask for more

Literally kicking myself for not taking a picture of the food!!it’s the best pub food I have ever had…trust me I have been all over!the staff were so friendly and welcoming.just amazing and worth every pennyKid-friendliness: The lady behind the bar/waitress was so accommodating to my children really made us all feel so welcome

We had Sunday lunch here today and I have to say it was probably the best roast we’ve ever had out. Whilst my partner loves a roast, I’m not normally a fan and had planned to have something different. However, on seeing someone else’s plate, I decided to go for the roast and very glad I did. Properly cooked veg - what a joy instead of the usual dish of hard tasteless microwaved carrots, broccoli and French beans that so many places dish up! Excellent choice of drinks on offer including my favourite gin and beer. Service was delightful - all three of the ladies we spoke to were very friendly and helpful. I only really have one complaint and it’s that this lovely pub is not within walking distance. Maybe we need to move house!

Superb Sunday Lunch on 7 Jan 2024 & has wheelchair access but phone ahead as tight squeeze getting to tables.Parking: Parking is on the street & up the lane.Wheelchair accessibility: It does have a slight step into the pub and a tight squeeze into the restaurant so phone ahead

I’ve visited many times with friends. On this occasion it was with family. My brother-in-law and I had the ‘Lot burger’. These days pub burgers can be hit n miss. Fortunately the Halt burgers are top notch , multifaceted and the tastiest I’ve had in a long time. Their food is consistent, reliable but most of all delicious and the staff are genuinely helpful and friendly. The Halt is the only pub that comes to mind that still serves custard with pud. In other pubs where they only serve ice cream, I most often forego the desert.

Really gorgeous country pub, beautiful setting, outstanding food, locally sourced and always good! Menu is small (which I love) with new, fresh and seasonal variation. Sunday roasts are just divine!!! The staff and service goes beyond, and very much the heart of our local community. We also had our wedding here which was just the most beautiful day, Rachel and Oggie went above and beyond to help and make sure food was amazing and it all went off smoothly!! Perfect wedding planners!! Photos are of the garden

Everything on the menu is that little bit different and prepared with thought behind it. Ever changing three ale choice is vital ingredient too. True country pub atmosphere.

The archetypal village pub. I only wish it wasn't 90 miles from home. Think I may have to move.... I've had many lunches here and it never disappoints.

We had been recommended to the Halt by several people so tried it for a drink initially and then booked lunch! We were not disappointed! There are meals on the menu which you wouldn’t find on your standard pub grub, which is what makes the difference. Lovely home cooked pork dish, Curried Goat, and according to my wife, one of the tastiest Burgers she’d ever eaten - and she should know! This little gem is Well worth a visit.
